Here is my sad, sad Meijer story: *sniff* 1)NONE of the Meijer in West Michigan doubles coupons at all. 2)They won't even allow us to use a mealbox coupon on an item that is on sale (I tried last week with the Tropicana - some cashiers will override the "beep" and let it go through but the screen reads PROMOTION ITEM every time). Now that is just WRONG!!! 3) We're only allowed to use one mealbox coupon for a particular item per visit (eg I can't purchase 2 Tropicana & use TWO tropicana mealbox coupons). 4) They won't let us stack Meijer coupons with mfr coupons - because on the mealbox coupons it says NOT TO BE COMBINED WITH ANY OTHER DISCOUNT COUPON. Again, it depends on the cashier. 5) And it is a huge hassle to use any coupons at all. It takes twice as long to use them and I am always prepared to pull my items out of the grocery bags to show the cashier that the item matches the coupon. The folks in line behind me are always thrilled with me =) I have emailed & called them to give them my two cents about doubling coupons. Basically the mgr said "lack of competition" is why they don't do it. In a nutshell, they don't do it because THEY DON'T HAVE TO DO IT! Grrr! I can still get some deals here and there by using the catalinas in combination with coupons, or using mfr rebates, etc. I was convinced that Meijer was the couponers arch rival until I read your posts and saw it was only MY LOCAL STORES!
