My addiction

Okay, for those of you who know me well, or even just a little bit, I’m sure you know of my addiction. I have a serious problem. I can’t quit. I don’t want to quit. I will never quit. They will pry this out of my cold dead hands before I will give it up. Seriously. I had to have it while in labor or any other conceivable time in my life. Yep, I kept an extra one in my soccer shinguard/sock thing while I was playing. I would whip it out before a free kick, throw in, any type of small break in the game! It was more important to me than liquids. Nope, no water break, just slap some goods on my lips. I feel jittery if I don’t have one in my hands. So I would pay any price for this item. Any price. Though, I still LOVE to find a great bargain on it.

Sooooooo…….I found a great sale on some lip balm. YAY! Marsh has a 3 (yes I said 3) pack of Blistex Fruit Smoothies on sale for 5/$5. This works out to around .33/each. You can’t get that even at the Dollar Store. The cheapest I can find there is a brand that I kind of like for .50/each. So to find a brand name lip balm for .33/each…man, its stock up time. (too bad there wasn’t a coupon out there for this!!!)

And no, my daughter did not think I was crazy when I bought 10 of them and said I would be going back for more tomorrow. She asked why didn’t you get more? and this: Mommy, how many do you go through a day? It is really hard to tell. I lose so many of them, sometimes they get sucked up in the washer/dryer, sometimes kids think it is a tasty snack, I dunno where they all go. Maybe if I only had one I would take care not to lose them. So, I have to use a couple a week?? Maybe more?

Now that I’m “grown” up, I have moved on from the more juvenile “flavors”. I don’t like the Bonnie Bell products anymore (I loved this in high school – my soccer fire up buddy – Krissi L – bought me like a whole sack of them – it was one of the greatest gifts ever!!!) because they dry out my lips and make them funky colors. I really prefer just plain Chapstick brand or plain Blistex brand because they don’t turn my lips blue or red or glittery or anything. They are just normal. Those are my favorites but I do like the Blistex fruit smoothies so it is a good stock up for me.

So now ya’ll know my problem if you didn’t before. I’m sure there are more of you out there.

So here’s my loot:

OMG, I love this post. I have this same addiction we should start a support group. Well we would have to get sponsored by a lip balm company to do so.

I am weeping here! I thought I was alone in the world. Everyone said it was just another symptom of my OCD. Thank God I found you, bless you – Beth
