If you have ever been to my house, you know what my husband is going to ask you to do…try out our bed. This wife, doesn’t even mind! HA! Every single time some new comes over he insists they come try out our bed. It has become a standing joke. Anyway, why does he want people to try it out? Because it is absolutely fabulous! We have a mid range Tempur-Pedic and considering the good sleep you get, it is a bargain. (Not all bargains are just because they are cheap – it is also good to look at comfort, how long the item will last, etc.)
I’ll be honest when we were looking at new mattresses, I was uninterested. I thought the mattress we had at the time was perfectly fine. I mean, I had no real issues or at least I didn’t think I did. I did know that HE was having some back problems so I let him do all the selections. We did look at the other types of beds including Select Comfort – which I was not impressed. It was like a oversized, expensive air mattresses.
The first night I slept on it, I couldn’t believe the difference! It was amazing. I didn’t get up once. I only wish we had bought this earlier when I was pregnant with our children! This was our 3rd mattress in 8 years and I’m sure we will have this one longer than the last two!

You are so right about Select Comfort beds feeling like oversized air mattresses! We had one in a hotel room once and when the sweetie leaned over to hug me, I practically flew off of the bed from the weight shift! I’ve always wondered about Tempurpedic beds. Are they warm? I’ve got hot sleepers and heard that Tempurpedic beds trap your heat. Would you agree?

I would say that no, they don’t trap the heat. It actually just feels normal to me and I usually get hot when I’m sleeping. I think they do have a special mattress pad that will make it feel cooler or warmer!
