I organize ummm well with the best of intentions- we seem to get lost soon out of the gate but I try to always set up a calendar and get totes etc to keep everything together and in ONE PLACE!
Jenna Z.
Arrange your kitchen in “stations” to make mornings go faster. Put the cereal bowls, spoons, sugar, cereal all in one place (on the table). Put the peanut butter, knives, bread, sandwich baggies all in one place (bread box on the counter) to make prep FAST!

I like to keep all the school supplies in one area.. where the kids can’t get into them. As deals come up, I add to my stock pile. I also save anything worthwhile when the kids bring their supplies home. Then, when I get the new lists at the beginning of the summer, I re-pack their backpacks and make a list of what I might be missing. That way I have all summer to keep my eyes open for the few things we may need yet.
Julie Cutshaw

We make sure the backpack is ready to go and waiting at the door to leave and clothes are laid out the night before so mornings have more time to chill before they leave for the busy school day. ;-)

We make lunches and pick out outfits the night before.

I help them picking up clothes, pack lunch boxes, backpacks the night before. Get everything organized ahead!

hey there.
what do i do to get ready for school?
how do I prepare?
well I wake up in the morning, listen to some funky song or band that isn’t well known, or an inspiring song to lift my mood, then I do last minute stuff. My lunch, clothes, and backpack will be laid out the morning before so all I have to do is get dressed and wash my face.
Sadly I have to ride the bus to school still, but I live so far away I’m on the bus for an hour!
IT SO HORRIBLE!
Although I do admit it’s great for test day because I have a whole hour with my flashcards!
I love to scrapbook, but dot have to money to buy too much paper at a time. I love to be creative, I just have to do it for free- so… yeah!

My kids are out of school now but I always shopped for their school supplies early when they were on sale. We then would put them in a special place and not move them until we put them in their backpacks. That way nobody would “borrow” something and not put it back!

I try to get as much as possible done the night before. It always makes the mornings go a little more smoothly.

I always check my little boy’s back-pack first thing when he gets home from school. At night, I’ll put as much of his lunch together and get everything back in his back-pack. I also iron all his clothes and put them out the night before school. I find the more I can do before the morning comes….the more organized we are! Thanks for entering me!

What a cool giveaway! To stay organized we use a dry erase board that is a calendar and notes. The family leave notes and things to do for the each week! It seems to work for us – This way the entire family know what is on our schedule!
Danielle
As homeschoolers, we have to be organized or the entire day slips by with nothing getting done. For us, it is vital to have a semi-rigid schedule, meaning that things need to be done BY a certain time, no matter what, but do not need to be done AT a specific time. For example, breakfast needs to be eaten by 9AM. Child A may get up at 7AM and eat breakfast, while child B waits until 8:30AM.

One Sunday I help pick out school clothes for the week and lunch money is given and put in book bag. School supplies are checked against list to make sure that everything that is need is packed in book bag and ready to go.
Stephanie Wolford
I have a stockpile of items in the closet so if we find we need something last minute, it is usually in our “store”, conveniently located in our hallway.
Nelly
I try to put together whole outfits on a hanger or in a drawer already matched together for my 10 year old twin girls…. it’s easier than waiting for them to fight over clothes every morning….
gets us to school & work on time. :)

I have a set of 4 older kids and 3 younger kids. I have told the older ones that if they want any papers looked at or signed they have to put them in a stack with their name on it (pref in the right hand corner) before 8pm. That way I have time to look, sign, etc and put them in their “to go” file (which they have to remember to put back in their binders). I need them to be responsible for their things- so I have time to help the younger crew!

Our school has a great organizational system. They provide each student with an assignment book, which parents can check for assignments and papers every night. They also send all important papers home weekly in a large envelope. It’s very helpful! jenmizener at gmail dot com

From day one, there is one place for backpacks by the door in a basket with each of the kids names on them. When homework is done, the backpacks are immediately put back so that there is no rushing around in the morning looking for lost things.

Everyday after school I go through my daughter’s backpack so that I personally know what all she needs to do that evening for school. After she gets it done, it goes right back into her backpack along with her lunch $ and anything else she may need for the next day. Also make sure to have all the clothes picked out that your child is going to wear the following day. It saves alot of stress and time on school mornings.
Anne
