I logged into my bank account online today and saw this:
I’m not sure I’m happy about seeing advertising ON my actual transactions. It’s bad enough when I go to the ATM I have to click NO to every offer my bank puts out there. This may be the kick in the butt I need to make the change to a community based bank for our personal accounts.
What do you think? Have you noticed this online at your bank?

Briana, I have noticed advertisements that are sprinkled in my online bank account when I look at my transactions. I use Bank of America, and I searched for a way to opt out or remove the ads, but there’s no way to do it (that I know of). It’s really annoying as I’m trying to review my personal transactions I see a big in-line advertisement for Aeropostale, and even some local offers. The advertisements are seemingly tied to their new rewards program. When you click on an advertisement and take advantage of it, you get some type of cash back reward. But shouldn’t I be able to opt-in and out of a program like this. I sure didn’t opt-in!

No, I haven’t seen this when banking online. We use a small regional bank and love it. When we use the branch in our small town (which is most of the time), they know us by name and love the personal touch. This would make me change banks in a heartbeat!

Oh, the irony! This blog entry in my google reader had a Netflix advertisement at the bottom! LOL!

No we haven’t had that, how annoying. We mostly use credit unions not banks–love credit unions (at least ours!)

I bank at a credit union and I’ve never had to click through any ads at the ATM or otherwise. How annoying! I love credit unions!!
