Guess #1 They died out due to the climate change.

Guess #2 They jumped into a shrinking machine and hid out for millions of years in order to make toys in their likeness and live like kings on some island somewhere.

I think changes in their environment caused lack of suitable conditions for them and they died off.

Dinosaurs became extinct due a huge meteor which hit the earth many many years ago and the effect was so spread out over miles and miles that the giants could not bear the heat and died.

A sad sad end to awe inspiring animals.
