CVS Trip $11.15 (79% Savings!)

Okay, CVS Trip #2 for the week. Yes, I did in the same day. Different cashiers though! :) While, my out of pocket total isn’t a total WOW as I did pay just a hair over $11, I was able to utilize my $4/$20 coupon I received in my email and a few coupons that were expiring on 12/31. I used my CVS transaction planner (Excel file) to get this pretty much to the penny!

(1) Pantene Shampoo & (1) Conditioner – 2/$6.97
(3) Powerade @ $1
(2) Crest Pro Health (our favorite brand of toothpaste!) – 2/$5.50
(1) Duracell Batteries – $2.99
(1) Charmin Basic (which we desperately needed – cuz, I don’t have a 40 year supply!) – $4.99
(1) Dawn – $0.94
(1) Gillette Fusion Pro Glide – $9.99
–Used my $4/1 coupon
–Used $13.24 in manufacturer’s Coupons
–Used the $6 in Extra Bucks from Shopping Trip #1
Out of pocket $11.15 + sales tax

Earned $9 in Extra Bucks to use on my next shopping trip!

How could I do better to reduce my out of pocket cost even further? Splitting up my transactions. In this case, I wouldn’t have been able to use my $4/$20 CVS coupon. $11.15 for all of these goodies is still pretty good, don’t ya think? Retail value is $51.79 and these are all things we will use! No food in this order but if you can save on your personal care items that you use on a regular basis it will alleviate some of the crunch in your grocery bill!

CVS Trip $9.87 (No Coupons) + $6 Extra Bucks Back

In 2011, I would like to share more of my store trips. If you are new, hopefully this will give you encouragement to start or keep with it because many of my trips will be very simple for anyone to accomplish.

CVS is one of my favorite stores – that I haven’t really shopped at in awhile. Why? Because my stockpile has been so plentiful that I haven’t really needed too. I don’t want to appear to be one of those really freaky extreme couponer people! :)

Not having any coupons with me but wanting to go ahead and get some Extra Bucks going, this is the deal I did at CVS today for just $9.87 + sales tax and I received $6 in Extra Bucks back!

(3) Powerade – $1
(1) Colgate Advance Toothpaste (Apparently, I’ve already printed out the $0.75 coupon available) – $2.99
(1) Tone Body Wash – $3.88 ($1/1 printable no longer available)
No coupons or previous Extra Bucks
Spend $9.87 out of pocket

Earned $6 in Extra Bucks for next trip!

The $9.87 is more than I would normally try to spend out of pocket with CVS. However, I feel like I’m starting fresh. You could have broke this into three smaller transactions to pay even less out of pocket! You can use my handy dandy CVS Transaction Planner (Excel File). It is old but it still works!

I’ll share my next trip to CVS, which I’m planning right now as we need toilet paper & laundry detergent – perfect for the P&G Sale going on this week!

Awesome Shopping trip on 3/15 (70% overall savings!)

I went shopping early this week. I usually do a trip at the end of the shopping circular but this time I had my deals written, coupons clipped, and was ready to go on Sunday. Ahead of the game for once. Pictures would be nice but after shopping for several hours and driving home I was exhausted.

I only had two coupons rejected and I just moved on because they weren’t high dollar coupons. The cashiers I had today were all so friendly and helpful. If the ladies from Walgreens found my site – “Hi” and thanks for stopping by. I love it when I have a smooth shopping trip and great cashiers helped to make it a great day!

Be sure to check those end caps for great clearance deals. I found our favorite Crest Toothpaste on clearance at CVS and used a $1/1 coupon from the P&G Coupon Booklet I received from a previous rebate. As well as finding Smart Rinse for $1.07 – $1/1 coupon, which made my final price just 7¢. Walgreens had some Pez dispensers on clearance for just 34¢ and some other little toys for around a $1. I use these items as gift bag fillers, stocking stuffers, or bingo prizes.
