CVS and Rite Aid: Pre-Load Your Rewards & Coupons via Web
by BargainBriana: Kilah on February 11, 2012
Here’s something new I learned at CVS. Now you can pre-load your coupons and discounts to your rewards cards before you go in the store. You can do this online. This saves money AND time! Don’t worry about forgetting or losing your 20% Off Savings Passes, Extra Bucks, and more!
When the cashier rings you up, have them scan your rewards card first. Then, the cashier should see an alert on their register and ask, do you want to use this coupon/savings pass/discount/etc. You may either accept or decline. If you decline, you can use it during a different transaction until it expires.
Be sure your husband and kids (or anyone you share a rewards card with) know about your pre-loaded coupons if you’re planning to use them on a big purchase. (Hands off boys!) For example, at CVS sometimes husbands will come in and use their wife’s card or phone number and if one of these messages automatically pop up, I’m inclined to ask. If they say yes to the discount- it’s theirs and cannot be applied to any other transaction.
Obviously, CVS has this feature and I just saw an advertisement for the same thing at Rite Aid. Do you pre-load your rewards and coupons anywhere else?
