Hey I’m fairly new at the CVS thing and think it’s really helpful to have a spreadsheet. But the thing I’ve never been good at is how to do several different transactions to get the best deals and I’m not sure how to do that with your spreadsheet. I currently have 2 CVS cards – each with $4 ECB on them. I’d like to get the Kashi bars (I only have 3 coupons for $1.50 off), Colgate toothpaste, Schick Quattro Razor, and Aussie/Herbal Essence Shampoo/Conditioner. Any help you can give would be much appreciated!

P.S. What does the CVS $$/$or CRT stand for on your spreadsheet?

I’m just learning but I did some pretty good deals with the roll over method. Here’s one of my examples. This week I purchased the John Frieda Root Awaking & John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Conditioner. CVS had them on sale 2 for $10 get $5 eb’s back. I had a $3 coupon for the root awakening & $2 for the conditioner. Total out of pocket was $5.65 but remember I got $5 eb’s back so it really cost me 65 cents. Then I purchased the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor on sale for $9.97. Used a $4.00 off coupon and the $5 eb’s from the John Frieda purchase, total cost $1.62. Then I purchased two Clarol Natural Instincts on sale for $5.97 each. I had a coupon for $5 off on one & $2.00 off on the other plus the $5 eb’s from the Gillette purchase, total cost 72 cents. Make sure you do your purchases separately. I first checked to see if they had what I wanted then I made my first purchase, I then went back to get my other items and then a third time. The reason I did it this way is so I wouldn’t get confused & I didn’t want to make three purchases one after the other so I won’t hold up the line but that’s up to you. Make sure your first purchase will give you eb’s to use on the next purchase. I also learned that when you go into CVS scan your Care Card at the Coupon Kiosk for extra coupons. And I didn’t know about the Green Bag Bucks. It’s a tag like your small CVS care card but it’s green & looks like a leaf. Everytime you go to CVS have them scan it. You can only use it once a day & it cost 99 cents but after every 4th time you use it you will receive a $1 eb. Hope this helped.

I went to CVS last night. I entered the items I purchased into your spreadsheet and instantly saw where I made mistakes. I should have done separate transactions and used the ECB that I received that day on the other items that I purchased. I could have saved more OOP doing it that way. Next time, I will definitely be better prepared. Thanks for the spreadsheet, great tool to have.

I’m planning at trip to CVS tomorrow. In order to get everything free I plan to do 5 transactions is that possible? Can I do 5 transactions in one visit?

Great spreadsheet. Somewhat silly question, what is the best way to indicate B1G1s on this sheet? In the price field or the coupon field? Just want do my math correctly.
