Yes, you can get free music legally. Many artists/record companies promote new music by offering free downloads for a limited time. Some are just artists no one has heard from (yet) and want to get their music out there. You never know what you might discover.

Here’s a sampling of what I’ve found that is available:

Taylor Swift’s song Love Story free by opting into a newsletter.

I could Break Your Heart Any Day of the Week by Mandy Moore. Register at Gain.com and join the fan club to download this new song.

Over 500 Free Songs at Amazon.com. Lots of music to choose from Ani Difranco, Mieka Pauley, and more. Over 500 freebies at Amazon.com.

Each week at Walmart.com there is a new free download. This week’s free song: Marvin Gaye – How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)

Chester French “She Loves Everybody available from MTV.com

Free Christian Music Download from CompassionArt’s New Album

Country Weekly’s Free Music Downloads (Ignore the ads from them in the left hand size. It is hard to avoid because it states “Free Downloads” but it will take you a site that does not provide legal downloads.) These will change frequently and you can download five different songs right now. Great way to try out new artists with no risk.

Know of any other current FREE LEGAL download sites? Leave us the link in the comments so we can all enjoy!
