Starbucks is updating their Starbucks Rewards Program so that rewards will come to you faster! You will now get rewards loaded onto your card and phone – no waiting for a postcard. Rewards can now be used on drinks and food. Now you will also be rewarded with a FREE drink or food on every 12 stars instead of every 15 stars. FREE Birthday drinks and free refills are still sticking around.
I love that you can get the rewards on your phone and directly on your card. I don’t get to Starbucks that often but hate when I forget my coupon…now I have no excuse! :)
This changes go into affect on October 16, 2012.

Darn! They are doing away with free upgrades like syrup – that was definitely a perk to me. If I was using my gift card I almost always got syrup added since it was free. But it is nice to get a reward at 12 now! Can’t wait.
