Smithsonian Magazine online offers free Museum entry in honor of annual event, Museum Day Live! taking place on Saturday, September 29, 2012.  Smithsonian Museums offer free entry every day, but this exclusive event offers free entry to several participating locations across the nation.  More information:

• Only Official Museum Day Live! tickets will be accepted
• Limit (1) one ticket per household, for two people.
• A ticket will gain entry to only one of the participating museums, excluding parking and special events and exhibits.
• If museum reaches capacity, museum has the right to limit the number of guests until space becomes available.
