{now closed} Country Crock Veggie Recipes + $1 off Coupon in All You Magazine | Giveaway
by Briana Carter on December 14, 2011
Country Crock wants you to celebrate the holidays with vegetables the whole family can enjoy. They have numerous recipes that will make a tasty dish for all the members of your family. Hopefully, even those that usually turn their nose at vegetables.
According to a national survey, eight of ten kids love the taste of veggies with Country Crock and moms agree that it’s better than butter with 70% less saturated fat and 0 grams of trans-fat per serving. We routinely use Country Crock in our recipes. Another reason besides the taste that I love to use Country Crock is it is very easy to spread and melt on food!
Good news – In the December issue of All You magazine, there is a $1 off any Shedd’s Spready Country Crock Spread (excluding the honey or pumpkin spice.) I was able to pick up a couple tubs for FREE with the recent Marsh Triple Coupon sale with this coupon. Even without the coupon, the $1 off would have made this a good value.
A few great side dish recipes for the holidays:
- Sweet Potato Praline Bake
- Cranberry Orange Spiced Green Beans
- Creamy Mashed Potatoes
- Easiest Ever Spoonable Cornbread
Easiest Ever Spoonable Cornbread had me at “Easiest Ever” along with the great taste! You can pick up this month’s December issue of All You magazine at Walmart newstands. If you haven’t subscribed to All You magazine yet, there is a fantastic deal going on right now that makes it around $1 an issue. Give as a gift or subscribe for yourself.
To hear more from Country Crock, follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
To help YOU celebrate the holidays with a delicious veggie dish, Country Crock would love to send a care package to one lucky reader!

{now closed} Giveaway: $50 VISA Gift Card from General Mills’ Box Tops For Education Online Marketplace
by BargainBriana: Kilah on December 14, 2011
This weekend I shopped General Mills’ Box Tops for Education with a complimentary $50 Gift Card from BTFE. Until now, I didn’t know box tops went digital! This site is really cool! I always wondered how much money cold be earned by collecting these box tops for my school and now that I know (thanks to this site) I am even more motivated to collect and shop for products that support my school. I was able to see that the school of my choice has earned $100 above its goal Box Tops earnings for 2011-2012. According to BTFE, over 85% of the Box Tops are gained from traditional clipping and we currently only have 2 users collecting eBox Tops (one being me, now!).
The site was very easy to use. BTFE provides direct links to several great stores including: Nike, Champion, Meijer, Lego, Justice, Vistaprints, Walgreens, Tanga, Snapfish and many more!
With so many options it was hard to choose where to start! First, I made a small photo book for my little sister on Kodak Gallery. Then, I ordered a personalized BargainBriana mousepad for my mom on Zazzle.com. I shopped for shorts on the Underarmour clearance rack, checked the Nike and Champion clearance sections, and even tried shopping a couple of new sites that I hadn’t ever heard of before. I even ordered a gift from The Popcorn Factory (yum). With my final purchases I have earned $5 worth of eBox Tops for my school.
I would definitely recommend shopping on Box Tops for Education online! If you have friends or family in public school systems, your every day online purchases can make a big difference in your community.
**GIVEAWAY: General Mills’ Box Tops for Education would like to offer one lucky winner their very own $50 VISA Gift Card!

{Now Closed} Walgreens Wellness Basket ($100 Value) Giveaway
by Briana Carter on December 7, 2011
It’s that season again – Flu Season! It normally coincides with the busiest travel period of the year. According to the Walgreens Flu Impact report, the flu interrupted more than 3 million vacationers last season.
Not only does Flu Season affect fun trips but it also affects day to day life! Last Flu Season, there were over 100 million work days lost due to flu-related illnesses and around 32 million school days missed. This is quite a bit of time! In our house, it seems like if one person gets it, it often spreads around to the rest of the household.
To keep you and your children healthy, Walgreens is giving one lucky Bargain Briana a Walgreens Wellness Basket. It has around a $100 worth of Walgreens goodies including cough drops, vitamins, thermometer, hand sanitizer, and a Walgreens Flu Shot gift card.
This will come in handy already because last night I started to feel that tickle in my throat as I was **trying** to go to sleep. Unfortunately, moms don’t usually get days “off,” so I usually just suffer through it! I’m sure many of you do as well!
Okay, so let’s discuss the giveaway details…

{Now Closed} Fill Your Stocking Challenge – $25 Dollar General Gift Card Giveaway
by Briana Carter on December 7, 2011
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dollar General for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. As a child, I loved to wake up on Christmas morning and check my stocking! Dollar General challenged me to see how creative I could get with a $25 Stocking budget.
Dollar General has a huge assortment of holiday items, which includes many budget-friendly items to fill stockings. My kids love getting other personal care items along with candy and other treats in their stocking. When I do things they already need like body wash or socks then I’m not only filling their stocking, it’s one less thing I will have to purchase for them later.
We live in a small town but it’s not too small for the Dollar General. As always, we were a bit rushed on time so I didn’t have time to grab any coupons before we headed out. However, we were able to still get some great deals.
Soap, pencils, hair accessories, body foam, candy, notepads are just a few of the things in the stockings!
I was able to easily fill two stocking for just around $25. I could have stretched that further by clipping a few coupons for the personal care items we purchased on the $1 aisle.
You can also watch our video below:
Leave me a comment on this post and let me know what your top money-saving tip is for filling your stockings and you will have a chance to win a $25 Dollar General Gift Card.

{now closed} Verdi Olives + $50 Costco Gift Card Giveaway
by Briana Carter on December 7, 2011
VERDI Olives are now importing their olives directly from Italy and shipping in this cool 35 oz tray packs to Costco locations in the Midwest including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, and Minnesota. This is the perfect size for your holiday party!
I’m not a huge olive fan so I was happy to know these VERDI Castelvetrano Olives are a milder, buttery olive. Kind of salty and sweet if that makes sense! Pair these bright green olives with mozzarella balls, drizzle with olive oil and skewer on a toothpick (maybe something fancier!) for a easy appetizer.
VERDI harvest only the finest DOP-certified Olives from Sicily’s countryside. For those of you, like me, who don’t know what DOP-certified means, Wikipedia says:
The purpose of the DOP mark is to protect the reputation of the regional foods, promote rural and agricultural activity, help producers obtain a premium price for their authentic products, and eliminate the unfair competition and misleading of consumers by non-genuine products, which may be of inferior quality or of different flavour.
How would you like to win a $50 Costco Gift Card so you can pick up several of these for yourself?

{now closed} Udi’s Recipe Challenge + Giveaway
by Briana Carter on November 30, 2011
Udi’s Gluten Free Foods sent us over a variety pack of six breads to participate in their recipe challenge. Udi’s Gluten Free is committed to creating delicious baked goods, which just happen to be gluten-free. We don’t eat gluten-free in our household but it is something I’m hearing more of!
Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, rye, and is often using as an additive in other foods as a stabilizing or thickening agent. Some people can not tolerate this. There are varying degrees of intolerance from a slight annoyance to a severe reaction. Bread, which is a staple for many of us, is typically made from grains that contain gluten like wheat. Udi’s products are completely gluten-free and made with the highest quality of ingredients so they are good for you.
Upon opening the package, the cinnamon bread smelled wonderful. The bread I noticed was smaller than normal size bread. We thought it was kind of “cute.” If bread can be cute that is!
What to do with it? The first thing that came to my mind was Turkey Manhattans, which is usually a quick dinner I can whip up. It was also going to take care of that nagging lunch meat we had left in the fridge. Plus, the potato buds I had in the pantry are gluten free!
You can make gluten free gravy very easily with rice flour and chicken broth. Use about 1 1/4 Tablespoon rice flour and around 2 cups or so of chicken broth. Make is as you normally would make gravy, which for me is usually adding ingredients until it feels right.
We used three pieces of Udi’s white sandwich bread for the bigger people and two pieces of Udi’s white sandwich bread for the smaller people. Heaped some mashed potatoes, added a couple slices of turkey, and topped with gravy. Easy! I thought about taking a picture after the kids had already half way devoured it!
The kids were a little concerned that the bread looked different than usual. However, everyone seemed to enjoy their meal!
Now, I will say that the bread by itself doesn’t taste as soft as I normally like my bread. It seems a little dry but it could be because of the way my products were shipped.
You can find Udi’s on Twitter and Facebook.
