Well folks, I have some bad news for you if you are a Marsh Supermarket shopper. Marsh is no longer doubling coupons. Any coupons. Big surprise as there was no official announcement from Marsh on this change just the language is GONE from their coupon policy. Hopefully, you weren’t planning a shopping trip today! For those of you who live in areas with other choices such as Kroger and Meijer this will probably not affect you much as you have plenty of stores to choose from to find the best deal. For those of you in small towns, like me, it will affect you significantly as there is not competition that is locally available.
I’m not sure why Marsh has made this decision. I’d love to think that they are lowering everyday prices to match this new policy. However, I seriously doubt that we will see lower prices. In fact, most of their “sale” prices are still higher than everyday prices at other stores. I know in my community, this will affect many elderly and middle class folks as they don’t have the money for fuel to drive 20-30 minutes away to a larger grocery store.
What Can You Do?
First of all, please don’t take this out on your cashier. This is not their fault. They are just following orders from the corporate headquarters. You can also ask to speak to a manager to let them know your feelings as well as they can communicate this to the corporate headquarters.
What you can do is contact corporate headquarters via phone, email, and Facebook. I recommend doing all three to voice your displeasure about this new policy. But please keep it clean! :)

We will still be covering the weekly Marsh “deals” as much as possible as I will continue to do this until the store in my town closes or gets purchased by another company, which is what I believe is in the future for Marsh Supermarkets as their prices continue to get higher and the discounts lessen. However, I personally will be making more trips to ALDI and Meijer. It will be well worth the round trip drive once a week to these stores!
If you live in a small town like me, besides driving to another town to purchase your groceries, you can also shop at the smaller stores like Alco, Dollar General, and your smaller locally owned groceries stores. I’ve noticed Alco and Dollar General have been getting more food items in the recent months too. They both accept manufacturer’s coupons and offer everyday low prices.
