Using coupons makes me look like I don’t have any money or I’m embarrassed to use coupons.

Fact:
It makes you look like a SMART shopper with all of your savings. I will
admit, at first, I was embarrassed to use coupons but once I started
seeing my savings add up, I don’t care now. It doesn’t even bother my
family anymore, they are right on board asking if I have a coupon for a
particular item! If you see a woman with a designer purse and wonder
WHY she is using coupons, her savings using coupons is probably the
reason why she can afford the designer purse.

I do still tend to get a little embarrassed – just a teeny bit when I hold up the entire line with my coupons. Like late last night, I was shopping at Meijer (HUGE SAVINGS – $50 in coupons alone – but that is another post!) and they only had two lanes open in the WHOLE store. Even the self check out was closed because they are remodeling and were jack hammering away at the floor in that section. So I caused a back up of about 8 people in my lane and each one of them only had a couple of items. I could tell they were annoyed but it is not problem the store wasn’t properly stacked! I was warning people when I first got in line that I had a lot of coupons and they might want to go to the other lane. LOL. My cashier was great last night. She also was a fellow crazy coupon lady and couldn’t wait to see my savings!!!

Does anyone else scope out the cashier’s to see who will be the most coupon friendly? I personally like to go to a lane with either teenagers or a woman under the age of 50. In my experience, the older ladies, tend to question every coupon (even if you are correct or it scans correctly) and inspect all your items.

Do you have a favorite time/day to shop? I’ve been doing my shopping every other week on Monday nights after my husband gets home from golf. It seems like a good time to go, the crowds are low, the kids are in bed….just quiet so I can think about my deals and coupons! (I don’t have to put my “No” mommy recording on when the kids are begging for everything under the sun!)
