Make a few extra $$ on your site

If you're new here, you may want to have these bargains delivered right to your email or subscribe via RSS feed. If you are new to couponing, check out my series the "15 days of Couponing." Thanks for visiting!

Over the past few months, I’ve slowly and steadily, starting making a little bit of money off my blogging hobby. Most of these affiliate programs, you have to apply to and wait for them to accept/deny your application. Some are looking for a specific fit for their advertising needs. Don’t worry if you don’t get accepted to all of them.

A learning curve is involved in figuring each affiliate program and website system. Hopefully, these links will help you out. Everything I’ve found is things I have already been promoting or would be promoting anyway. If you find a site you like, just browse around and see if they offer an affiliate program or you can do a google search for “X company affiliate.” Some companies like Dine Without Whine, DIY Themes, and others offer their own “in house” affiliate programs. It is harder to get a check from these types of companies because you have to hit a certain threshold to get payment. Whereas, with the affiliate companies you have many companies to choose from to earn.

Adsense - I’ve yet to receive a check but slowly and steadily but it is one old reliable that most people use.

Logical Media & MySavings - These are my best money makers. For one, many of the campaigns they offer are ones that I would offer anyway because they are freebies/good survey places/etc. Logical Media is currently offering a $25 sign up bonus for just signing up!

Brandcaster - Another one of my favorites! You can earn a few pennies for every printable coupon your reader’s print!

Linkshare – Many advertisers to choose from. Some give you special coupon codes and email you about their special offers. Many many advertisers to choose from! Click here to become a LinkShare Affiliate!

LinkShare Referral Prg

Commission Junction – Many advertisers to choose from. I’ve made a few bucks from this one from things I would already be promoting such as coupons and college saving fund programs.

ShareASale – This site has a wide variety of advertisers. I’ve been looking a little more in depth and have found several that fit with my site.

Chitika – Payout after only $10 via paypal. $50 for a regular check. Similar to Adsense and can be used in conjunction with Adsense. Chitika ads ONLY show up for users who find your website through a search engine. They do not show up for people who directly type in your url.

Any Others I’m missing that you’ve had a good experience with?

Get Paid to Shop this Holiday Season

by Briana Carter on November 13, 2008 · 0 comments

If you do any online shopping, you should consider signing up for one of the many cash back sites out there! The savings can add up especially at this time of year! (Be sure to see each site for their terms & conditions…and use their link to shop so you can earn $$$.) I would pick one or two sites to be your primary cash back sites as you don’t want to dilute your earnings by using too many of them!

Big Crumbs – I’ve been using this one and your purchases are quickly credited to your account. What is cool about this site is you can earn a % on any of referral’s purchases. You can read more about it HERE.

Ebates – Get $5 Bonus if you sign up now using this link. I’ve been using this site for YEARS! It is my main cash back site. Right now many of the retailers are offering double cash back earnings! You can read more about it HERE.

Swagbucks – You can earn cash back through their program. I mainly use this site to search to earn swag bucks but you can earn swagbucks, which can be redeemed for other prizes such as gift cards etc by shopping through their link. You can read more about it HERE.

Mypoints – I have told you about Mypoints HERE. They do have a cashback program. I don’t currently use it but it is similar to the other programs out there. (Email me @ bargainbriana@gmail.com if you want an invite! I have 4 invites left this month and you and I both get bonus points if you use the referral link.)

Mr. Rebates – I haven’t personally used this one but many people have had a good experience.

Upromise - You can also shop through Upromise and earn money back. But you don’t get it back in your pocket like these other sites, it goes into your Upromise account. Which you can then transfer to a qualified 529 plan. You can read more about Upromise HERE.

There are so many ways to earn/save money on Amazon. I’m going to write a Series (not sure how many it will be right now – 4 or 5 probably!!!) to coincide with my $25 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway – Be Sure to Enter every day for a chance to win!!! (Ends 8/31)

Amazon Affiliate

The first way I’m going to discuss is becoming an Amazon Affiliate. It is very easy if you own your own website/blog domain. Basically, you fill out the application and once you are approved, you can put different widgets on your blog. You can create a store with items you really love, a general Amazon search bar, text links or much more. However, once a person clicks on the link, anything they buy will be credited to your account even if you weren’t “promoting” it. So if you do have sales, your earning rates are below:

  • $12 for each Amazon Prime Member (we will discuss what a PRIME Member is later)
  • 15% on Endless.com referrals
  • 10% on Amazon Gift Cards
  • 4% – 8.5% on everything else depending on how many items are purchased

So once you have sales, how do you get your money? You will be paid in approximately 60 days at the end of the month you earned the sale. You can then choose to be paid by the following methods:

  • Check. You will have to have $100 in earnings before they will cut a check. They will also charge a $15 processing fee for each check. (I wouldn’t recommend this method!)
  • Amazon Giftcard. (Have at least $10 in earnings.)
  • Direct Deposit (Have at least $10 in earnings.)

So far, I’ve yet to have a sale and you can’t earn money off your own widget. Since I shop quite a bit at Amazon (when I find a good sale!), I find another blog that has a widget and shop through them! Someone might as well earn something off my purchase!
