I’ve been hesitant to post these because I’ve seen posts on other blogs where they thing stockpilers are crazy, greedy, etc. But I thought it might be interesting for you to see how my stockpile is “organized”. Plus, we have 4 hungry kids so we will use everything we have and I LOVE having things in stock so I don’t have to go to the store. It is so nice to be able to just grab things from my cabinets when we have an impromptu get together with friends or family. Or I can just grab things from our stockpile to donate to different causes.
We have a smallish pantry. If we were to do it over again, it would be much bigger! So I have to store things in the garage, laundry room, and find any kind of cabinet space possible! HE put a new shelf unit in there right before I took these pictures. He didn’t believe me when I said I would blog about how great he was for doing that. Well, here it is.
Pantry:

Lots of cereal. If we get down to only 10 boxes, the kids think we are almost out.

Garage Area:

Our Freezer full of meat (can you see how desperately it needs to be defrosted!) I have posted before how we “bought” a cow and split it with 3 other families. The final cost for the meat (all cuts) was around $2.25/lb, which to me was a good deal. Plus, it was a local cow (raised about a mile from our home) and was not given any hormones. It is VERY good beef. Probably the best we’ve ever had. :)
