Subway sent us a gift card to try out this new sandwich. As soon as the gift card arrived my oldest son claimed it as his own! When the weather is decent and he is waiting for a game or a practice to start at the school he will sometimes walk to our local Subway to grab something to eat. Growing almost teenage boys basically eat all the time. So to get a filling, delicious, sandwich that is a SUBWAY FRESH FIT™  option for just $6 for a Footlong is great value for us.

He’s sort of a picky eater but does like barbecue so he really liked this sandwich. I’m not sure if it will replace his favorite turkey, chicken, bacon aka his meat sub as a favorite but he enjoyed it as a way to mix it up! Unfortunately for him, he has a mean mom that won’t upgrade his current phone which does not have a working camera. Recently P&G sent me a package of their most loved products. These are brands like CoverGirl, Dawn, and Swiffer, which have received hundreds of awards from industry experts over the years. This makes them some of America’s “Most Loved” home,  beauty, and grooming staples! Many of these items are on my personal most loved list as well!

These products are trusted for quality and have been passed down through the generations because they are household essentials that moms like me can depend on to make my life easier! I especially love the Olay 4-in-1 Daily Facial Cloths, which are perfect for travel and everyday use. When I’m traveling it’s nice to have these because they are compact and I only have to bring the facial cloths instead of bring a cleanser and eye make-up remover as the cloths cleanse, scrub, and remove oil and make-up like mascara or eye liner!

Tide to Go is another most loved item. It is a must for someone who is sloppy like me. For example, if I’m wearing a white shirt, I can guarantee that I will spill my coffee or lunch all over it. It’s nice to have a Tide to Go in my purse to help remove the stain before I’m able to get to my laundry room.

The Center for Science in the Public Interest in Washington D.C. just released the results of “Kids’ Meals: Obesity and Poor Nutrition on the Menu” report on the quality and nutrition of kids’ meals served at the top 50 chain restaurants in the United States. I’m not surprised that they found that SUBWAY® restaurants was the only chain to meet CSPI’s criteria for the entire FRESH FIT^TM for KIDS menu.

Of the 3,498 meal combinations investigated by the CSPI, 97% do not meet the expert nutrition standards for children’s meals and 91% do not meet the NRA’s Kids LiveWell standards. This is shocking and sad considering we as Americans eat out much more today than ever before in the past with almost half of our food dollars spent on restaurant foods. We have been working hard in our house to do effective meal planning to limit our dining out dollars to save money and eat healthier. However, it is good to know we can head to Subway and know there are plenty of healthy options for the kids.

All of Subway’s childrens’ meals include apple slices and apple juice or low-fat milk, which meet both the expert and industry nutritional standards. Subway is one of my kids favorite places to go to eat! My two youngest usually want the turkey with cheese and apple juice. It’s such a change of pace from burgers, french fries, chicken nuggets. Though, I have to hear “Eat Fresh” about fifty times each time we go.
