I just saw you have STLMommy’s button. She’s the one that started ALL this for me! She was featured on the local news and I’ve been hooked to couponing and bargain hunting ever since!

I tried to use my bogo coupon on the $1.99 Ritz crackers today and the cashier would not let me. Is this happening to anyone else?
  • Krista - March 04, 2009 @ 5:52 pm 4
I bought the blink eye drops today and used the $2 off coupon. I didn’t realize until I got home that I didn’t get the RR. When I called they said that it was because I used the coupon. I don’t know if that goes for all walgreen’s or just this one.

Krista, I have the same problem with my local Walgreens. If I use a coupon for the item, the RR’s do not print out. I was told the same thing as you were. So I no longer use MFG coupons on RR’s.

I ALWAYS use manufacturer’s coupons for register rewards deals that is how you maximize. I’ve never heard of that happening before, maybe it is a regional thing? Are you sure you bought the exact right item. Sometimes you have to buy a specific variety/size/etc for the register reward to generate. You should absolutely be able to use a coupon and still earn your register reward!

Thanks for responding! I just checked the ad & I did it right. It must be a regional thing. I’m kind of new to all this and appreciate all your help.

    This bums me out. :(
I live in the DFW area and tried two different deals with RR’s using MFG coupons(one time in Irving, the other time in Arlington.) Both times the RR’s did not print out and I was told it was because I used coupons.

Brianna, I wish I lived in your area!

Oops! One “N” too many…sorry Briana.

Is it true that you can not get RRs if you pruchase an item with a RR? I went to puchase the toothpaste that you get the $3.50 RRs on but I paid with the $8.00 RRs from the blink eye drops. I got the toothpaste and a few other things to make my total higher than $8 but I did not get the RRs for the toothpast. I asked the cashier and she said it was because I paid with the $8 RRs.

I am in VA, and I can use a MFG Q to get items & get RR’s, but if I use an RR for an item that is supposed to print an RR, it will not print that 2nd RR. Does that make sense? Also, I did the Ritz deal, but they would only do it once? Wags can be a pain to me, but there’s one practically on every corner, so I figure I can move around when one gets annoying. Btw, Yestocarrots lip balm on special for $2.50, use their $2 IP.

My Walgreens In Desoto, Mo. is great great great………. I use coupons and get my RR. Sometimes when the are out of what is on sale they give me a rain check and I get my RR and use my coupons too. Sometimes the machine does not print out my RR so the cashier calls the manager and he comes over and gives them to me. But I keep track of my RRs before I go in. The manager stated to me that sometimes the machine is not always right!!
