Every house, and every car for that matter, should have a first aid kit. There are a ways for you to have a more natural first aid kit as well. There are three essential oils that you should have in that first aid kit. Lavender, Peppermint and Eucalyptus Essential Oils have amazing healing properties that make them essential to have on hand.
Lavender Essential Oil
One of the most widely used essential oils is lavender. It is great to help someone calm down if they are anxious or lift someone up if they are depressed. But did you know it is a natural healer as well? Add just a few drops to your favorite carrier oil like jojoba, coconut, grapeseed, or sweet almond. Dab this onto insect bites, scrapes, or burns and it will alleviate itchiness, swelling, and reduce bruising. Lavender Essential Oil can also be used on very dry, itchy skin for an instant relief.
Peppermint Essential Oil
When our stomachs act up and we are away from home we need to have something on hand that works super fast. Add just a drop or two of Peppermint Essential Oil to 24 ounces of water and drink. Peppermint is a natural digestive aid and can help with nausea, vomiting, and an upset stomach. Peppermint is also great to diffuse and breathe in if you do not want to ingest it. Peppermint Essential Oil can also be used on minor skin irritations as it has anti-bacterial properties and is perfect to have in your first aid kit.
Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Eucalyptus Essential Oil fights germs as it is a natural antiseptic. Apply either a 1-2 drops directly or add to a carrier oil for an instant pain reliever. It works great to stop the stinging from insect bites, bee or wasp stings, and the pain from a scorpion sting. Eucalyptus Essential Oil also reduces fevers rather quickly. You can add Peppermint and Eucalyptus Essential Oil to a carrier oil and massage in to reduce temperatures and to relieve pain. They work quite well together!

Just use care when using peppermint oil. It isn’t recommended for use in children under 6.
