NOW CLOSED (48 Hr Giveaway) Candyland

December 22, 2010 by Briana Carter

CandyLand is a game I enjoyed when I was a child and I’m pleased to say it is a still a crowd pleaser! Though, one little girl was unhappy because she didn’t get the Princess Lolly card! However, our CandyLand fun night was a success.

If you are looking for a game to pick up at the last minute this holiday season, you can usually score a decent deal on CandyLand, which will provide hours of entertainment.

Travel down the rainbow path on a journey of discovery through enchanted lands filled with sweet surprises around every corner. Create delicious treats at the Cupcake Commons to deliver along the way, participate in a thrilling snowboard race down the Ice Cream Slopes with the Duke of Swirl, take a relaxing train ride through Gummy Hills and climb to the top of Chocolate Mountain. Be sure to make friends with Gramma Gooey, Lord Licorice, Princess Frostine and Princess Lolly of Lollypop Woods throughout your adventure, as you race to meet King Kandy at the grand entrance to the Candy Castle.

How would you like to win this fun game?

    Our favorite way to play was to add candy to each of the main spots. When you land there you can take a piece or two of chocolate at Chocolate Mountain, a Licorice from Lord Licorice, a small pop at Lollypop Woods. No one wanted to end the game until the candy bags were empty! We also had a gingerbread castle built for the end of the game that could be eaten at the end. Of course we had gum drops and even the candies that looked like ice cream. YUMM! Thanks for the memories!

I REMEMBER PLAYING IT WITH MY SON & DAUGHTER WHEN THEY WERE YOUNGER. I AM NOT SURE IF IT WAS JUST A GIRL THING, BUT IF MY DAUGHTER DID NOT WIN THE GAME, SHE WOULD JUST STOP PLAYING OR ACCUSE US OF CHEATING. SHE ALWAYS HAD TO BE THE WINNER OF THIS GAME. AND THIS MEMORY DID NOT HAPPEN WITH OTHER GAMES THAT WE PLAYED…..JUST CANDY LAND. ;-}

    I remember playing Candyland as a child, and with my son who is now 16! It is such a sweet and simple game, easy enough for a 4 year old to understand. The fact that it has withstood the test of time and generations tells you that it is a great game.

    Should I win, I will give the game to the library where I work in the childrens department. We have a few game afternoons at the library every so often, and this game would be a great addition.

    Thanks for all you do, Briana! I have gotten so many good deals and samples from your newsletter. Have a great Christmas!!

    Then daughter and I spent many hours and days playing it as well.
    Would love to win one to play with the grandkids now!

    I am not a child but an elderly widow but this story is pertinent. In 2002 my late husband passed away as I was taking care of my 4 yr old grandson who had been diagnosed with Brainstem Cancer (High Grade Pontine Brainstem Glioma). After my husband’s passing I became the daily caretaker of my grandson and stayed with the family during his illness and passing. Candyland was the one game that Garrett could play and enjoy. He was quite immobile and eventually had a stroke but could still play Candyland with one hand. That is one of the greatest memories of my life…that he would insist on playing Candyland with me as he could always somehow beat his Grandma. Even though one side of his face became paralyzed he would still get that gleam in his eyes and have a slight smile on the other side of his mouth. At the end he could not talk but could still manage to make his desires known about wanting to play Candyland. So you see though I am 66 yrs young playing Candyland with little Garrett before he passed away was a very special memory. I would love to win the game so I can play it with my grandchildren who are temporarily living with me while dad is out of work. They are 7,8,9, and just turned 12 and won’t get much for Christmas this year because I am on Soc. Sec. and trying my best to support all of us. Thanks for such a great website. It really helps me immensely in trying to stick to a budget. Merry Christmas. :)

    Oh my gosh do I ever remember playing CandyLand when I was younger. I would get so mad when I got one of the special pieces and I had to end up going back 1/2 the board and my sister would laugh and laugh and laugh at me. I was competitive even when it came to playing CandyLand. Merry Christmas to you all.

    I played Candyland as a kid! I bought one at a garage sale a few summers ago but the box ripped and half the pieces fell out and it ended up in the trash, so I would love to win a new game to play with my 5 year old daughter!

    I loved Candy Land as a kid. That, along with Chutes and Ladders, was among my favorite games growing up. My kids played it too, and I still have their game. And even though it’s getting a bit tattered, when we all get together, usually after a party or picnic, we break out the board games and have a go. I think Candy Land is one of those classics that’ll never get old. Thanks.
