Taking a bath is a wonderful way to lower your stress levels and take away the aches and pains of the day. Baths are not preferred by everyone, but if they are done correctly they can be invaluable. Some folks use bath time to completely remove themselves mentally from the stress and do nothing more than soak, while others will use it to allow them to think a problem through. Regardless, here are some tips to make your bath experience memorable each and every time:
How to Have The Ultimate Bath Time Experience
Set the mood
The first thing you have to do is decide where you wish to go mentally. Are you trying to visit a special place or do you want to simply turn off entirely? Knowing what type of mood you want your bath to have is vital because everything else follows. For example. if you want to visit a comforting ski lodge and soak in the sauna, the mood will be very different than if you like to head to the beach mentally. Pick where and what you want the mood to be first.
Put your mood in motion with the senses
We respond to our various senses in powerful ways. To truly visit the beach, for example, it helps to cover each one of them carefully. Some can be tricky but you have to think outside of the box. Looking at our beach theme, here are some examples of each.
Smell/Touch
Nice beach smells are easy to reproduce. Scents like coconut, ocean water or summer breeze scented candles can do wonders to get you started. Some folks like to use summer scented bath oils {I love my essential oils!} and things of this nature to cover touch and smell all in one. Pick what helps you tune in the best and run with it.
Sound
This is one thing that can really help. Certain sounds and songs can really take you where you want to go. Just be careful if you use electronics in the bathroom. (Electricity concerns and all) A nice wave sound machine does wonders to turn your bath into a beach in the middle of paradise.
Sight
Mood lighting is a wonderful way to really bring the bath together. Whether bathing by candlelight or simply turning the lights down low, it gets much easier to float away on a cloud of comfort as the hot water steams around you. Many people also decorate their bathroom in a beach theme to make it particularly relaxing and easy to go there in their minds.
Taste
While it is not particularly comfortable for most people to eat in the bathtub, having a nice glass of wine or cool beverage is always a good thing. Take the time to make a particularly delicious favorite before slipping into a luxurious bath after a hard days work.
