Once you have secured coupons, you need to know How To Organize Your Coupons to keep them in order for your ultimate success. There are a multitude of ideas about the best ways to organize coupons, but it boils down to what works best for you. Since every person is different in how they like things organized, we are going to give you various options that are popular and funcitonal for coupon storage.
How To Organize Your Coupons
Binder Method: Probably the most popular method of organizing coupons comes with using a three ring binder and trading card storage sheets. By using these card holders in a three ring binder, you can easily divide into categories and flip through your entire coupon collection in minutes. This takes time to get started, as well as weekly time spent clipping your coupons and putting into the appropriate place in your binder.
Filing Method: For those who don’t like having to clip every coupon out individually, a filing method is much more popular. Using a simple filing cabinet or filing box, you can separate out your coupons by type (Redplum, SmartSource, P&G) into individual file folders. You can then separate those folders by week or month so it is easy to flip through your coupons and find just the week you need to clip from. This is easier on a weekly basis for those who don’t want to clip every coupon out every week.
Envelope Method: For many years, clipping what you would use and putting into individual envelopes for specific categories was the only way to organize your coupons. You could put these into a recipe card box, or an index card box for easy carrying to and from the store. While this tends to be a bit less organized than other methods, it is still a useful method many learned from their grandma or mom years ago and still use today.
When trying to figure out how to organize your coupons, try a variety of methods until you find something that feels right for you. What works for others may not always work for you. Test out various methods to find the right fit.
