This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dole Squish’ems via the Mom It Forward Blogger Network. All opinions are 100% mine.
Spring means sports in our household, which also means snack schedules, late nights, and many days/nights of hungry youngsters! As a busy mom of four, I try really hard to not be scrambling at the last minute for sports gear, uniforms, and snacks. This isn’t always possible but when I follow my own tips, I stay organized!
Keep Healthy Snacks in “stock.” As you know, it’s not always practical to travel with fresh fruits and vegetables. You know on those days when you are coming straight from work to practice or a game. I still like for my kids to have a healthy snack to get them physically prepared for their game. This is when you will want to have a nice stash of a product like Dole Squish’ems in your pantry. Dole Squish’ems are fruit pouches that squeeze easy. They are perfect for on-the-go kids and have a resealable lid.
Dole Squish’ems come in three varieties – Apple, Apple Strawberry, and Apple Mixed berry. This is a snack you can feel good about feeding your kids especially before a big game. They are BPA free, NON GMO, Gluten Free, Circle U Kosher, 100% fruit, and just 60 calories in one kid-friendly package. Parents will enjoy them too at just $2.79 per package. (Look for a way to get a $1 off coupon near the end of this post!)
My kids were super excited to see the box of Dole Squish’ems arrive on our doorstep. They told me that they love these things! and shhhhh….. DON’T TELL MY KIDS THEY ARE HEALTHY! :)
Keep Uniforms & Gear in Special Area. Have a special spot in your home for uniforms, hats, and gear. We have a designated area in our laundry room that I keep all of our sports stuff. Otherwise, it will get lost in the kids rooms and we will be scrambling at the last minute looking for all of these items. The first thing I have the kids do when we get home from sports is to take off their uniforms in the laundry room and they go into the washing machine right away. Once you get in the routine of this, it is much easier.
A few weekends ago, my husband hung up one of those cleaning supply hooks specifically to use for our baseball bags. It is the original purpose of the hooks but it works great as you can see. You can purchase these for around $10, which makes it an economical solution for sports bags.
Family Google Calendar. People if you have a smartphone, put it to use. Create a Google calendar for your family to share, add, and change events. This is a MUST have in our household as we would never know what was going on with as many sports schedules we have. You can also create alerts so that if a family members updates or adds an event, you will be notified via text or email. No excuses for not knowing where to be when you have this set up. I also have a daily agenda sent to me via email and this is the first thing I look at in the morning.
Encourage Your Children to Have a Positive Attitude. No matter how bad the game was or how bad the referees/umpires are, I try as much as possible to have a positive attitude. Attitudes are contagious. If you have a positive attitude, your children will have a positive attitude. While it is fun to win, sometimes you have to lose to grow and learn. Nothing is worse as a spectator than to sit in the stands listening to a fellow spectator constantly complaining about every single aspect of a game. It is sadly no surprise when the children of bad spectators display bad sportsmanship. Win or lose, I want to see my child encouraging others, having a positive experience, and being respectful to everyone on the field or court.

Putting the sports uniform in the same place after every game is mandatory.
No one likes to be hunting down uniforms at the last minute :)
