Hasn’t everyone heard of THE Coupon Mom, Stephanie Nelson? If not, she has a new book out, The Coupon Mom’s Guide to Cutting Your Grocery Bills in Half. Stephanie breaks the book down into Rookie, Busy, and Varsity shoppers with tips that fit the needs in each category.
While, the book is largely promoting how to use the CouponMom.com website, there are little golden nuggets for experienced coupon shoppers throughout the book. She has also included numerous family friendly recipes in this book.
I can totally relate to Stephanie:
Stephanie says, “Nothing makes me more excited than showing others how to get a jar of pasta sauce for free by combining sales and coupons.”
Its a great feeling to share my savings and help others save as well!
Great news for my readers, I have been given (2) copies of The Coupon Mom’s Guide to Cutting Your Grocery Bills in Half by Stephanie Nelson to give away!

My tips: Check for local stores that sell the Sunday newspapers at reduced cost. Before you buy your Sunday newspapers , make sure there are coupon inserts that you want that particular Sunday. Also check to make sure all the coupon inserts are in all the newspaper copies you buy. If they’ve slipped out somehow, you’re missing out on savings!
My tip: stock up on things you use frequently when they are on sale. By the time you run out, chances are the product will be on sale again.

always check the clearance section. I save all coupons, because usually the ones I wouldn’t normally use are the ones that end up being moneymakers later on. Also, when it comes to beverages, I find I am better off buying the slightly more expensive welch’s juice, because the quality and flavor is so good that you can dilute it to 50% and not miss a thing (not so with other brands). Much better value in the long run.
My best tip has been said before….check the local ads of your fav grocery store and compare those to your coupons. I’m usually amazed at what matches up and what I can get for free/very cheap after coupons and discounts!

We use coupons when we have them and buy things that we really need. A grocery list definitely helps, as well as eating before going shopping. We don’t buy everything at one store but go to 3 different sores to check the deals. Plus we go to the public market where we can buy vegetables and fruit so much cheaper than at any of the grocery stores.
I am an email subscriber.
My tip: Never go into the grocery store without a list. Stick to your list!
While many stores have great offers. Don’t be afraid to miss one, or two. I generally only shop at walmart because it is 2 sec. from my house. And most of the good stores are no where near me. I miss alot of offers due to this, but I also still save alot compared to what i spent a year ago or even 6 months ago.

I would have to say that combining store coupons with manufactures would be the best way to save!
Add rebates to you sales and coupon matchup and you can make money shopping!
We stock up and use the freezer for things like cheese, meat, bananas, etc when they go on sale. I also shop at multiple stores to get the best price/coupon discounts.
My tip is: check out cool coupon saving sites (like this one) regularly, sign up for the newsletters. I’m hoping to win the book.

Be OK with letting a few deals slide. If you chase every deal, you’ll end up overspending and overwhelmed. Stick to what your family NEEDS and you’ll be much more relaxed and spend far less!

I’m a newsletter subscriber! I love your blog, keep up the great work & thanks for the savings!
My best tip is to never shop while you’re hungry! Doing that can only lead to impulse buys.
I love stacking store coupons onto manufacturer’s coupons, tons of savings especially if the item is a sale item that week! If a cashier refuses your coupons do NOT be afraid to ask for a manager! Most manager will question the cashier & give you the discount! I could really use this book to help me get more organized. I have coupons lying everywhere in my home right now.

I always try to get what’s on sale if I don’t have a coupon for it. I buy whatever is cheaper.

Keep a price book of the best prices for items that you usually purchase. Then, when they are on sale stock up!
I search online manufacture sites, coupon sites, for specific items that I plan to buy. I love being able to use two coupons for B1G1 items to really save money. Also, I am learning to cook from the pantry more and try to plan my meals around items that need to be used before they expire.
Pick up multiple papers on Sunday. Multiple coupons inserts = More Savings opportunities!
i know it’s simple, but stick to your list and forget the impulse buys!
I would love this book. I stock pile as much as possible.
Just sent you a tweet….hope I did it right.

My tip is to get to know the butcher or head of the meat department at the store where you shop. They will let you know when various items will be on sale so you can stock up.
Grocery Tip:
Keep all your circular coupon ads in a folder – write on the cover (of ads) with a dark pen or sharpie the exact date it came out of the paper. A lot of coupon sites will make reference to what date you can find the coupon out of. Love this and has helped me earn FREE or next to nothing items over and over.

Just shop the sales and match your coupons to them and really save especilly at stores like Kroger. I have noticed that they are really aware of what coupons are released and tend to keep items that have a coupon where people can see them.

My tip is to shop on the days the new circulars come out so you can make sure and get the product you want!
My grocery saving tip is whenever you go to the store whatever you save in that trip put away in a savings/Christmas/vacation account. For example if you saved $50 on one grocery shopping trip put that $50 away in savings. :) I currently have a Christmas and vacation account so whatever I save, I split between the two accounts and I’m doing VERY well.

Grocery saving tip
ALWAYS go with a list! ALWAYS get the list out when you enter the store! I even mark items with a circled “C” to remind myself of what coupons I have. If you stay focused on your list, you are less likely to end up with extras in your cart!!!!!
Pay attention to sale ads and don’t be afraid to go to more than one store (if you can!)

My tip is do what you are most comfortable. I was always trying to be the couponer that didn’t fit me. Now I do what fits me and we are saving what we works for us.
