Home Depot Spring Black Friday Event + $50 Home Depot Giveaway (2 Winners)

March 31, 2011 By: Briana Carter

Are you ready for summer? I’m ready for this weather to warm up. We had snow flurries just this week – at the end of March – ICK! Bring on the sun!

The Home Depot is celebrating the return of warm weather with a Spring Black Friday event with significant savings on lawn care products, power tools, and other seasonal items.  There will be in store savings, online savings, and deals only available via the Home Depot Facebook Page.

Fun Fact: Last spring, the Home Depot sold enough tomato plants to produce 375,000,000 pounds of home grown tomatoes, which could make 75,000,000 quarts of homemade tomato sauce!

The HomeDepot.shoplocal.com will have specific deals posted on Thursday at midnight. Facebook Fans of Home Depot will be able to get Black Friday type offers through the end of May. They will be available via Facebook only and will feature items 50-75% off regular prices including gardening and lawn care products, patio, cleaning, ahd decor items. These will be diferent than the items featured on HomeDepot.com and in stores.

Here’s some of the deals that will be available beginning 3/31 while supplies last:

  • 7-Piece Martha Stewart Living Cardona Dining Set, was $499, now $299
  • Brinkmann Pro Series Four Burner Gas Grill, was $369, now $199
  • Ames 4-wheel Garden Cart, was $39.97, now $19.97
  • 16oz Miracle-Gro Liquafeed Advance Starter Kit with Sprayer was $12.48, now $6.24
  • 1.33 Gallon Roundup Extended Control Weed and Grass Killer Plus Weed Preventer, Ready To Use , now $9.88, compare at $19.96

How would you like to win a $50 gift card to the Home Depot? I have two Home Depot gift cards for two lucky readers!

Most of our garden will consist of peas, beans, tomatoes and peppers. We’ll have a few odds and ends (like lettuce, spinach, onions, etc) but there are some things we’ve decided it’s not worth the garden space to grow (corn is a big one).

We love to plant a garden each year though the growing season is short around here. We plant tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, green peppers and potatoes as our stables and then vary other things from year to year. I love picking the fresh produce just before we eat it.

We don’t have much room for a garden, but we do plant containers with herbs and flowers. I like to get the kids involved in growing something!

every spring I collect plants from Home Depo so my rabbit can nibble on them on my deck. Last week I purched a ten dollar palm plant from HomeDepo and I love it. They alway have a large selection of plants with great prices.

I currently have seedlings growing – chives and tomatoes. We make our own tomato sauce so i also like to grow basil and parsley to use fresh in the sauce. Last year we also grew bell peppers.
