Michael Angelo’s Back to School Healthy Eating Habits Giveaway #Wingiveaways

August 2, 2012 By: Briana Carter150 Comments

I’ve been hooked on the Michael Angelo’s dinners since I met the family behind the recipes at Blogher last year. It is not a brand I would have ever tried until I had that personal connection and specific information about their products. These meals are delicious and come in a wide variety of products.

I try to steer away from prepared frozen meals for the family for a variety of reasons. I was pleased to know that Michael Angelo’s products are made with real ingredients without adding additional ingredients with names that are impossible to pronounce. Look at the ingredients for the Vegetable Lasagna. The first ingredient is tomatoes followed by more vegetables.

To keep their freshness, Michael Angelo’s meals are not started until the grocery store places their order. This means that the entrees are shipping to stores within 36 hours of being made eliminating unnecessary time housed in a freezer warehouse. Of course, this makes these meals the freshest frozen meals you can find!

I love having some frozen meals in the freezer as some nights we have so many activities going on I barely have time to take a shower let alone plan a meal. It saves us paying for take-out or going through the drive-thru when I can get a delicious meal on the table in just 10 minutes. I specifically shop for Michael Angelo’s meals when I shop in the freezer section.

Here’s some more tips and products you can use to help develop healthy habits in the kitchen during Back to School:

  1. Healthy Steps Portion Control Dressing Cruet: Great container to store your own homemade dressing. It’s easier than what you think to make your own dressing.  I also love the measuring tool so you can easily portion your salad dressing for the proper portion
  2. Cuisipro Herb Keeper: Keep your fresh herbs fresh longer. Adding herbs to your recipes adds flavor without adding fat or sodium.
  3. Misto Gourmet Olive Oil Spray: This is an awesome tool to add your favorite oil to your pasta, pizza, salads, veggies, and breads! I normally have no sense of the amount of olive oil I’m adding to recipes or to my vegetables and this makes it so much easier.

How would you like to win all three of the products above AND 9 FREE Product coupon for Michael Angelo Products (3 Single Serve, 3 Family Size, and 3 Natural Line.)

Stay informed of the latest Michael Angelo’s news on Facebook or Twitter. Use the store locator to find Michael Angelo’s products near you.

I always make sure my son has a good breakfast (sometimes at the expense of my own) and a complete dinner that includes veggies. As far as lunch goes, I manage to pack it about half the time and the other half, I give him money to buy school lunch. I’m confident that he makes wise decisions and doesn’t trade his packed lunch for crap food and that he doesn’t buy pizza and soda from the cafeteria (why do they even have that as an option?!?)

These meals would go a long way into helping us start off the school year healthy. As a cancer patient, I am not always able to cook, so these meals would be a quick and easy way for my husband to cook dinner that night.
