NOW CLOSED: Organize Your Coupons with the Couponizer Giveaway

April 8, 2010 by Briana Carter

couponizer

I’ve been using the Couponizer for over a year. I’ve had two different ones and they keep improving every time. While, the Couponizer is not perfect, overall I find it very convenient for shopping trips and it is so “official.”

As you are shopping when you put the items you have coupons for in your cart, simply insert your coupon into the “Check out” pocket and you will be all set to go at checkout. Hopefully, no more fumbling with coupons or digging for that coupon at the last minute.

couponizer-cardsPros

  • Pretty
  • Durable (I haven’t torn my up yet and I’m hard on everything!)
  • Easy to transport
  • Fits in a medium sized purse
  • Section to keep your store loyalty cards

Cons

For hard core couponers, the pockets on the Couponizer will not be large enough. However, for me it is big enough for my “loose coupons” which include home mailers, printable coupons, inserts coupons I’ve clipped of products I know we will buy, free coupons, magazine coupons, etc.

I would also prefer a horizontal style coupon holder instead of vertical.  Why? Because while I’m shopping, I put the Couponizer in the basket and when it is vertical it is hard to flip through the book.  If it was horizontal instead, it would be perfect.

dairy-meat-couponizer

Overall, I find the Couponizer useful for my shopping trips and it fits nicely in my purse.

Have you tried the Couponizer? What are your thoughts?

I think the best tip is to always make sure you keep your coupons with you. Either in the glove box of your car and/or in your purse, etc. because you just never know when you will end up at the supermarket on a whim. And you do not want to get stuck without your coupons.

  16. Ashley G. says

I tend to forget that I have coupons, so I try and write the items on my shopping list so I actually get them. I also put the coupons in the same pocket in my wallet as my debit card so when I go to pay @ the checkout, I see the coupons.

I currently use a rather large three-ring leather binder with sports card holders – and it zips up on the edges so no coupons can fall out. The binder also has a calculator, a single pocket for odd-sized coupons, and a couple of zippered pockets.
It works well except that I have to fold all the coupons – which takes time, and it’s rather bulky to haul around. The couponizer looks much easier to handle.

    Hey,

My wife saves the coupons in a little pouch attached to the fridge with a magnet. She doesn’t use a purse, and we usually plan our trip to the grocery store practically in our back yard so we don’t forget to bring the coupons. But for some of my clients who wear purses, I’ll suggest this as one of many tips on budgeting that they can use to ensure they always have their coupons handy.

    Thanks for the post

I ALWAYS CUT COUPONS FOR ANYTHING I USE WHETHER I NEED IT OR NOT AND USE THEM AT THE LOCAL STORE THAT DOUBLE. I WAIT FOR THE PRODUCTS TO GO ON SALE AND BAM, USUALLY SPEND UNDER $1 FOR THE ITEMS THAT USUALLY COST AROUND 3.

My Couponizer has helped me keep my coupons organized. It is sturdy and doesn’t flop all over the place like an accordion file. True, it isn’t perfect, but my husband is no longer complaining about the coupons floating loose around the house. I really like it a lot.

I just leave the weekly newspaper coupon inserts in tact and I print out a list of the coupons in the insert and the date of the insert and put it in front of the insert in the binder. The loose coupons I organize in the same binder with baseball cards. So far this works best for me.

Use a small photo album to store coupons for those trips that don’t require your big binder. I split several Walgreens transactions into separate pockets, then I know what I have to buy and when I have to buy it (so as not to mess up my RR!)

I have a plastic container with a latched top. I have plastic dividers that I have labeled. If I take the container with me the 1st divider is for that days coupons being used. Normally I go through the sale fliers and match up coupons with items I need then seperate into envelopes by store. Make my list by store. That way leaving the coupon bin at home I don’t stray from my list and I keep my budget in check.

It is alphabetized by Manufacturer because I usually only buy things when on sale and I find that method really works. I use baseball trading cards and photo album inserts for my coupons. I also keep the current weekly store ads in a pocket in the front with a calculator, pen, post it notes and scissors. Love it!

I have a small box with a lid that I have modified hanging folders to fit with dividers. My best tip is to organize by product, similar or duplicates all together and then by date. When I make my list for the store I pull the coupons out that I’ve seen match ups for and then I always bring my other coupons incase I see a good deal. The only bad thing about my box is that it’s rather hard to manipulate with a kid but it does fit in the front of the cart nicely. I would love something more inconspicuous

And then I put file tabs on the side and have written like dairy, frozen, meat, and ect…. I even have one for CVS and Krogers since they put out their own coupons. My other one is a 1/2″ 3 ring binder for eatout with page protectors in it. Each restaraunt has their own sheet protector. We get so many pizza coupons thisis the easiest way to keep track of them.

You might say I’m nuts for all the work. But my hubby sits in the chair at night and watches TV. so he sits and does my coupons while watching TV at night.

I picked up a file box (the plastic ones with a latching lid and handle on top) at Aldis a while back to use for my coupon inserts, it works SO great!! I keep them in hanging folders by date and it’s very easy to find what I’m looking for. I also have a folder each for mailer coupon books, printables, and my Aldis shopping list :)

I use a filing system for my inserts, then small binders for my loose ones.
