Organizing Your Dresser or Chest of Drawers {52 Weeks to a More Organized Home/Life}

Organizing Your Dresser or Chest of Drawers

Have you ever pulled a drawer open to find a t-shirt and found a jumbled mess? Organizing Your Dresser Or Chest Of Drawers is a must in almost every home. Not only will it keep things easy when it’s time for you to pick out something to wear, it will also keep your clothing in good rotation.

Organizing Your Dresser or Chest of Drawers

Purge Clothing You Won’t Wear: Before you do anything else, empty all of your drawers and sort clothing out to donate or throw away. Items that are stained, have holes or no longer fit can all be sorted to various bags for throwing out or donating to someone who can use them.

Move Seasonal Items To Storage: This is becoming a theme in our household organization posts, but it so important. We often leave seasonal items out thinking we might need them one more time, but they end up getting in the way instead. Use underbed storage or vacuum seal storage bags to keep these items out of site until needed.

Use Dividers: This is especially helpful in lingerie or underwear drawers. Use dividers to keep things like socks, underwear, bras and lingerie orderly. Simple plastic dividers are easy to add to your drawers, and are a great inexpensive method of keeping things orderly.

Roll Instead Of Folding: Folding and stacking things like t-shirts and tanks can take up a lot of room, without giving you the ability to see what you have. Rolling your t-shirts and laying side by side in your drawer takes up less room, and gives you a quick and easy view without having to move things around. This helps eliminate the jumbled up mess you often find.

Hang Tank tops: In recent years there have been some great solutions on Pinterest, and this is one organization tip for closets and drawers that I love. Add shower curtain rings to a hanger and easily hook them through the straps of your favorite tank tops. This takes up far less space in the closet than it does folded or rolled in your dresser or chest of drawers.

This week household organization stays with your clothing, but adds one more eliminate to streamline your household. Easily organizing your home is doable this year. Focus this week on organizing your dresser or chest of drawers to make getting dressed each day that much easier.
