NOW CLOSED: Popsicle Coupons Giveaway

February 24, 2010 By: Briana Carter254 Comments

Recently, my youngest daughter had her tonsils taken out! Her diet: Popsicles and Twinkies! She is still telling me with a little head nod and finger wagging, “The doctor said I can only eat sugary stuff.” I’m happy to report, we had a very good recovery and I’m still waiting for the setback the nurses warned us of…its been 14 days today, so I’m hoping we are part of the small percent sails smoothly!

So when Popsicle asked me to do a review/giveaway, the timing was perfect!  Plus, as a kid, I remember going to grandma’s house and eating all her fudgsicle chocolate bars and my mom used to hide the Klondike bars from us! I’ve done the same in our household, I hid the fudgsicle bars at the very top where little eyes hopefully can’t see!

I was just browsing the Popsicle site and was pleased to see a new “Slow Melt” line, which will be perfect for in the hot summer days! I’m amazed at all the varieties…another popular one back in the 80s was the push pops! Anyone else remember those?

As a child, my favorite cold treat during the summer was eating ice cold watermelon. We lived next door to my grandparents, so cousins were always around. I remember my uncle always sending the kids outside to eat the watermelon because it was messy. Messy, but delicious!

I remember waiting to hear the ice cream truck music while it was still a couple of blocks from our house. Once we heard it we started trying to decide what we were going to get. Sometimes we were so impatient that my Mom would let us go across the alley to the street before ours so we could go ahead and get our treat. My big brother always got a Bullet and I always got an ice cream sandwich. Now I have grandkids and wish they could now the excitement we used to feel on hearing that music and getting that treat on a hot summer day. They are used to having ice ceram in the freezer all the time and it’s just not the same.

I’m a fan on facebook. And my favorite childhood treat was homemade kool-aid popsicles my mom made. We were dirt poor while my dad was going to school, so for popsicles my mom would make kool-aid, pour it into ice cube trays and once it started getting slushy would put in a toothpick. We thought we were in heaven when they were ready to be eaten. We’d run out to the front porch, sit down and enjoy our frozen treat. Good times, and good memories!

my favorite childhood memory is running outside when I heard the bell from the ice-cream truck and spending a quarter on a bomb-pob or creamsicle.

we also had a milk man who delivered milk to our house twice a week…if my sister and I would go out to the truck to bring in the milk, the milk man would give us a popsicle as a thank-you treat!
