{NOW CLOSED} Rice Krispies Treat Holiday Cupcakes + $100 Visa Gift Card Giveaway

December 16, 2010 by Briana Carter

You may remember when I participated in the Rice Krispies After School Conversation Starter Challenge. I had so much fun doing it that when Kellogg’s asked me to participating in the Holiday Show Stopper Challenge, I was totally in!

This is one that is so easy for anyone to do – even me! :)

Rice Krispies Treat Holiday Cupcakes

Ingredients
  • 3 Tablespoons Butter
  • 4 Cups Mini Marshmallows
  • 6 Cups Rice Krispies Treats
  • Various sprinkles & toppings
  • Cupcake Foil Liners
  • Peppermint Extract (optional)
Directions

Melt butter on low heat. Stir in marshmallows until completely melted. Add in a drop or two of peppermint extract if you wish. Shape into circles or scoop into the cupcake liners with ice cream scoop. Roll balls in the sprinkles to coat completely.

The outcome is Rice Krispies Treat Holiday Cupcakes.

Even though he’s 88yrs old he’s still I kid at heart and eats the head off 1st ! I use redhots for the eyes and silver balls as the buttons and red shoelaces for the scarf. and just the simple Rice Krispies recipe ,I just spray the cookie cutter with non stick spray. The new recipe’s that I will be trying will be the Choc krispies cupcakes . Thank You ~Mary~

oh, what a tough decision! I’m so impressed with how clever and creative The Motherhood is…My favorite recipe as far as taste goes, would have to be the original recipe (without any other flavors). As far as designs go, I usually don’t have the patience to mold the Rice Krispies into a shape (not to mention, I’m always in a hurry to eat my treats!). You’ve given me lots of good ideas. I think I’ll let my kids choose. I’ll make the recipe and let them have fun with the designs. Thanks for the giveaway.

I saw this one in a search on theMotherhood, and it sounds simple but lovely – perfect for quick-guest-treats:

    By Becki
    Sausage Things
1 lb. bulk pork breakfast sausage, cooked and drained
1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
    2 tubes crescent rolls
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix cooked sausage with cream cheese and set aside. Separate crescent rolls into three pieces each. Top each piece with about 1 tsp. sausage and cream cheese mixture. Pinch seams to seal (will look like a little ball). Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake until puffed and golden brown, about 15 minutes. These may be made the night before, covered and refrigerated, and baked the next day. Yield: 48 sausage things.

Hi and Happy Holidays! :) Well, in actuality, if I were to try to make any treats, it would be the basic one because I’m not a cook or regular kitchen user, so best start with the original type of Rice Krispie Treats. But from the site, the Chocolate Gingerbread Rice Krispies Treats sure sound good! :)

    Rice Krispies Treats Ornaments
    1/4 c. butter
    10 oz. package marshmallows
    6(ish) cups Rice Krispies
    extra butter
colored sugar sprinkles and nonpareil sprinkles
    Rolo candies
    toothpicks
Melt butter and marshmallows together. Mix well. Add Rice Krispies cereal. Mix until combined.

With well-buttered hands (not a phrase I type every day!), shape sticky cereal mixture into balls. I got 6 balls out of one batch of Rice Krispies treats. Pack tightly.

Sprinkle colored sugar or nonpareil sprinkles over each ball. Gently press sprinkles into the treats.

Stick one end of a toothpick into the bottom of a Rolo candy. Plunge the other end of the toothpick into the Rice Krispy treat ball to attach the Rolo and make it look like the top of an ornament.

I agreed to make these in oppose to putting up a tree…Yum!
