These Bourbon Sweet Fire Steak Kabobs are packed with tender, juicy sirloin steak, colorful bell peppers, and a mouthwatering homemade BBQ sauce that has the perfect balance of sweet and spicy!


Ingredients

Ingredients: 

  • 2 pounds sirloin steak, cut in 1-inch cubes
  • 1 red bell pepper, seeded and cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 1 orange bell pepper, seeded and cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, seeded and cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 1 green bell pepper, seeded and cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 1 red onion, cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 8 (12-inch) wood skewers 
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar bourbon seasoning 

BBQ Sauce 

  • 1 cup whiskey
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 ½ cups ketchup
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp of crushed red pepper 
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 4 tbsp molasses
  • 1/8 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon liquid smoke 

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together all of the BBQ sauce ingredients. 
  2. Pour your BBQ mixture in a small saucepan on medium heat. 
  3. Cook for 20 min. stirring often. 
  4. Store in an airtight container. 
  5. Thread your meat onto the skewers alternating with pieces of bell peppers and onion.
  6. Place the kabobs in a casserole dish or a foil lined baking pan. 
  7. Season the kabobs with the bourbon seasoning. 
  8. Place in the refrigerator for 1 hour. 
  9. Turn the heat on medium. 
  10. Grill kebabs, turning often, until all sides of the meat is well brown and vegetables are tender. 
  11. Cook for 12 to 14 minutes. 
  12. Coat your kabobs with the bbq sauce and cook for additional 4 minutes. 
  13. Enjoy!!
