Five Tips for Trimming Your Sugar Intake
Here are five tips to get you started:
Learn the word moderation well
If you are ever able to master the art of eating in moderation you will experience a world of freedom and deliciousness. Most people think you have to totally eliminate anything that tastes good or contains sugar and that is simply not the case. You just have to learn to eat in moderation. Small amounts every now and then can be very satisfying. Try it and you will get better as you go.
Start discovering the mystery sugar in your life
Some folks are completely stunned when they figure out the various products that are loaded with sugar. We know that soda and donuts contains a ton of sugar but did you know that it is also found in salad dressings and ketchup? Start reading the packages and look for the amounts of sugar. If it does not list the exact amount, do some research. You will be shocked at the sugar you eat each day and are not aware of it.
Give unsweetened products a shot
The unsweetened products of today and the ones you found years ago are vastly different as far as flavors. You can find things now that are nearly as good as sugar filled. Give them a try before assuming they taste like cardboard. You will be pleasantly surprised.
Enjoy your cinnamon and honey
You can overdo it regardless of what you are eating, but flavoring your favorites with cinnamon and honey can do wonders. This is one of the most popular methods for coming off sugar but you have to be careful. Too much of anything is a bad thing.
Don’t eliminate it all at once
If you are trying to cut back on sugar intake, cut back. Don’t try to be a superhero and get all of the sugar out of your life forever and overnight. We mentioned moderation before. Take a slow approach to changing your habits and they will not be nearly as painful. A bit of sugar now and then is a good thing. Just make your cuts, stay in moderation and don’t give up.
You will be healthy and eating with common sense in no time flat!
