Organizing Your Couponing Stockpile {52 Weeks to a More Organized Home/Life}

June 30, 2015 by Briana Carter

Organizing Your Couponing Stockpile

We love how couponing stretches our budget and creates a great stockpile of items we use year round. Organizing Your Couponed Stockpile is so important to make sure you are really getting the ultimate savings from it. Not only will you always know what you have on hand, you won’t find yourself letting things go to waste because you forgot about them.

Organizing Your Couponing Stockpile

Arrange By Expiration Date

One of the biggest things to remember when organizing our stockpile is to keep expiration dates in mind. While health and beauty aids have expiration dates, they are generally much longer than food products. Not only do you want to watch them when purchasing, you want to be aware when you are organizing and arranging your stockpile. Always rotate new stock when you get it in to make sure older items are on the front.

Keep Like Items Together

Like anything else you organize in your home, keeping like items together makes the most sense. Instead of having soap in your pantry, linen closet, bathrooms and garage, put them all together in one standard storage location. Keep your canned goods all together, and even invest in a can organizer to make that even easier for storage. This will help you to know what you have on hand at all times, thus less wasted money and a better handle on what you have on hand in your home.

Use Appropriate Storage Methods

Some items shouldn’t be exposed to high or low temperatures. If your storage method isn’t going to keep it safe, then you are just wasting space and money. Keep your couponed stockpile organized by using your climate controlled areas with simple shelving.

Donate Items You Haven’t Used

When it comes down to it, this is a theme throughout or organization tips for the home. Donating items you can’t or won’t use is very important. That includes your couponed stockpile Sometimes you grab something you think you will love, only to find it just doesn’t fit into your home. Lotions or makeup can cause irritation. Foods don’t go over well with family, etc. Sort through your stockpile and if an item has been collecting dust and not rotating out regularly, consider donating it to those in need in your community.

Keeping your coupon stockpile organized is important to keeping in your family budget this year. Wasted money is not a good thing, so organizing your couponed stockpile is one more way you can ensure you are saving the most you can this year. Set yourself up for household and budget success by keeping track of your stockpile in a great easy manner that works for your family.
