When the holidays are upon us, it’s time to start thinking about cleaning up some of the areas that family will spend the most time in. Organizing Your Dining Room may seem like an odd thing to do, but now is the perfect time to go through and set things in order for easy access and use during holiday celebrations.
Organizing Your Dining Room
Clean Out Non Dining Related Items: Dining rooms often become the catch all for kids back packs, craft projects and more. Take this time to clean out what doesn’t belong in the room. Get your kids involved to help with this home organization project by having them take items back to their respective homes for you.
Dust & Organize Hutch Or China Cabinet: If you have a China cabinet or hutch in our dining room, now is the time to clean it. Dust, organize and make it company ready. That also means pulling out things like your silver, napkins, place mats, table décor and more.
Clean The Silver: Now is the time to check out the silver and clean using wipes or polish accordingly. It’s a great way to get the kids involved in your home organization process, as well as getting things in order for your next family meal or party with friends.
Arrange Tableware For Easy Access: This is where real organization comes into play. If you have different napkins, place mats and centerpieces stored in your dining room for different seasons, now is the time to arrange them. Put them into your cabinet or hutch in order of holidays so they are easy to rotate around. This will leave you with the next holiday or season on top.
Your dining room shouldn’t take long to organize, but will take some time to clean. In home organization, sometimes the things that are most important are the steps we take to clean items before we put them back into proper place. Putting things in order also means keeping them clean and at their top performance. By cleaning your dining room, you are organizing it for easy use later.
