This is a sponsored post, I am a Kmart Layaway blogger, though all opinions are my own.
The holidays are approaching and Kmart has already released their list of top 15 Coolest Toys of the Season. Some of these hot toys will sell out fast as we all remember from the days of the Wii, Elmo, LeapPad, and many more. If you don’t have the money to purchase these items now or just want to keep these items out of view of your family to use as holiday gifts, you can take advantage of Kmart’s free layaway program.
With Kmart layaway, you can shop for almost anything. See a complete list of items eligible for layaway with this handy dandy grid below. It also compares Kmart layaway with other competitors. Of course, Kmart offers more benefits with their layaway program and is the only store that I know of to offer online layaway.
Here’s how it works. Simply bring your items to the Kmart layaway count in the store or add to your shopping cart online. Yes, you can do layaway ONLINE! Then you will initiate your contract and pay your downpayment. The normal fee to initiate a contract has been waived during this promotion so FREE layaway! Your downpayment is $15 or 10%, whichever is greater. Then you will make 4 easy payments every two weeks. After you make your last payment, you can pick up your items or schedule your pick-up after making your final payment online.
Even better is Kmart’s Big Layaway Giveaway! There will be one layaway giveaway per participating store per week every week from now until November 17, 2012. You have a chance to win every week during your layaway contract. If you win and have an open layaway balance, you will be awarded a Kmart gift card in the amount of the applicable layaway contract’s balance (up to $500.)
What will you put on layaway? Here’s a few of the items from my children’s wishlist I would put in my layaway:
The boys love legos and would think this was really cool!
Sofia would love this….
I’m not sure who would NOT enjoy the Furby – so gift for the entire family?
I just happened across this really modern pattern dinnerware set – American Atelier Asiana Red 16 piece for $67.49. Super cute!
When I was a kid, layaway was one of the options we used to purchase items. Do you layaway? Will you use Kmart’s layaway this holiday season?

I am a mother of 6 kids and if it wasn’t for Kmart layaway I don’t know what I would have done for their first day of school and Christmas. I will always be grateful to Kmart. I also at one time was an employee. And loved working there.

I have used layaway for as long as I can remember!! It is an awesome thing to help out those of us who don’t have a lot of money up front. With having 6 kids it was a God send!! Going to use it this year for Christmas with the kids and their other halves and all the grandkids!! LOVE IT!
