{Gifts in a Jar} Cinnamon & Pecan Doggie Treats

If you’re like me, you want the very best for your furry friend, especially when it comes to treats!  That’s why I’m excited to share this super easy and wholesome recipe for Cinnamon & Pecan Doggie Treats that your pup will absolutely love. These treats not only taste amazing (trust me, they will be wagging their tails) but are also made with simple, healthy ingredients that you can feel good about.

 

Whether you have a playful pup at home or you’re looking for a thoughtful gift for a friend with a new furry family member, these treats are a perfect choice. They’re fun to make, healthy, and make an adorable gift idea to share some puppy love!

In the Jar

  • 2 cups of whole-wheat flour
  • ½ cup rolled whole oats
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) salt

Add To Mix

  • 1/2 cup 2% milk
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 Tbsp. honey

Directions:

  1. In a medium size bowl, combine all the dry ingredients and mix well.
  2. Next add all of the wet ingredients: milk, olive oil, egg, honey
  3. Mix until just combined.  Using a rolling pin, roll out dough on a floured surface to 1/2 “ thickness.
  4. Using a doggie bone cookie cutter cut of dog treats. Order a cute one here. 
  5. Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
  7. Allow dog treats to cool to cool. Store in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator.
