Getting into a messy or dirty car can be frustrating for many people. Nobody wants to move food wrappers out of a seat before they get into a car. Organizing Your Car is something that will help make you and others more comfortable riding in it. It can also eliminate that hassle of losing things in your car, being out without what you need and of course always being prepared for those little emergencies that occur.
Organizing Your Car
Clean Out The Trash
The first order of business when getting you car organized is to clean out the trash. This is likely the worst part of your car, but it can be tamed easily. First clean out all existing trash. Secondly add in simple trash bags to your car that will make it easier to keep in control later on. Use the grocery bags tucked into doors, or behind the seat organizers.
Clean Out The Clutter
Our cars tend to be a catch all for everything from spare grocery bags to textbooks for our kids. Make sure that you clean out what isn’t really needed in the car. Stop letting your trunk be the place to toss unwanted junk, and start taking it back for its purpose.
Update Your Emergency Kit
An emergency kit means many things to different people. For your car it includes things you might need in a roadside emergency. A first aid kit, flares, spare tire & jack, water and other similar items are typically in your emergency kit. We recommend evaluating needs for your family as well. If you have toddlers or babies, include spare diapers, wipes and change of clothing. If you live in hotter climates make sure to have plenty of water. In cooler climates you will want to add in jackets and blankets. Store all of these things in your trunk in a simple tote for convenience.
Add Seatback Organizers
Whether is is an over the seat organizer or a simple box or canvas bag that sits between seats,an organizer is handy for many purposes. These are perfect for putting things like coloring books, crayons and small toys in for your kids. They are also great for holding hand sanitizer, wipes, extra cell phone chargers and even your CD collection if you still use one.
Use The Glovebox For Important Papers Only
Don’t fall victim to the habit of tossing napkins, sauces and straws into your glovebox. Instead, keep only important papers like your vehicle registration, roadside assistance coverage and vehicle insurance paperwork there. Should you need to locate it quickly, you will have it all in one location.
Getting your car organized is easy when you put your mind to it. So much of it comes down to your mindset and getting rid of the trash and clutter. After that find a simple organizer that works to keep the things you need handy in an orderly fashion.
