Here’s a question- today I went to Walgreens and they said I exceeded my coupon limit- you used to have something about the order of the coupons- what was that?

At Walgreens you have to have one item for every manufacturer’s coupon. So if you have a RR you are using, you have to add a “filler” item – something cheap so it will all work. I just learned that a couple of weeks ago. Kind of a pain but it does work. I usually find something on clearance for 30 cents or so and add it in.

Coupon expiration dates… When the coupon expires 3/11/09 does that coupon work on 3/11/09 or is the last day of use 3/10/09 until midnight?? I had an awful experience at my local Walgreens due to this question.

You should be able to use that coupon until 11:59pm on the date of expiration so 3/11!

Question ?
i did one transaction where i earned the 6.00 RR, i went to another store and did the same transaction, and used the 6.00 RR, but i did not get another RR for 6.00. was it because i used it for the same transaction that i earned it from?

Yes that’s exactly why. You can’t get a Registed Reward twice for the same items, so you always need to do seperate transactions if you are getting more than one of the same RR item, and when rolling RRs make sure you don’t use the same one to buy the item again or you won’t get it. I learned that the hard way.

My regular Walgreens was out of the Soleil Razor refills that are BOGO Free this week, so I went to a different Wags, where I grabbed the last 2 they had in stock. When I got to the register, I had those and a couple other items, and all my coupons. Well when we got to the razor cartridges I attempted to use 2 $2/1 coupons, because even though they were BOGO they were still ringing through 2 of them, and my walgreens which is just down the street from this one lets me do it all the time. The cashier wouldn’t even try to scan the 2nd coupon, saying that since the 2nd one was free due to the store BOGO deal, she couldn’t let me take $2 off of nothing…blah, blah, blah… Mgr sided with the cashier and only got to use one. Not a huge deal, but is there an actual corporate policy that would cover this situation? I didn’t have more coupons/RRs than items so that wasn’t it:-(

I was wondering if the RR actually expire when they say or are they like the CVS extracare bucks and not expire? I have one that expired two days ago and I’m kicking myself for not getting there before now.

Thanks!

I tried using a coupon for $1/1 any accent highlighters at walgreens this week. They were priced at .99 cents. After the coupon they should have been free with .01 overage. When the cashier scanned the coupon she said it wouldn’t work because the coupon was for more than the price of the product. Is this true?

To Jenn Brimhall:
(sorry i’m answering your questions haha)

I work at Walgreens.
Since the iten was .99 cents,
coupons do not cover tax.
So technically the register will not take the item.

Some cashiers are nice though
and will modify the price of the highligher to a dollar so you can use your coupon, or just key in a “.99″ mnf. coupon, to get the register to take it, since the coupon is still good for a dollar.

and to Maddy Dennis:
They should have let you use the other coupon even if the product was free. If the cashier would have scanned it, the register would have took it. So there was really no reason. Some stores are more stubborn than others about that. But my managers do the same thing there, so no reason you should get to.

I have a question about walgreens. I am very new at this coupon thing and had an awful time figuring it all out today!
I bought the new halls that were on sale for $1 and used a .75 cent off coupon. An nice item for .25! I was happy and then the register printed out a rr for $1. Well, I tried to use it on my next item
shampoo that was $2.99 and I used a $1 coupon and tried to use the $1 RR. It wouldn’t accept it! What good is that? They said that I couldn’t use the RR…why?
What could I have done differently?
Thanks for your help!
I was at CVS and bought an item and got got ECB’s and turned around and used them on the rest my order and it worked..that is the way I thought it should work.
