5 Money and Time Saving Tips for Moms on the Go

The kids are back to school but this doesn’t mean things are slowing down around our house. In fact, it means more activities, more practices, school field trips, and constant on-the-go.  This mom is always on the go! If you took a peek at our family Google calendar, I’m sure that many of you would relate.

Being on the go keeps us busy but saving time and money is still very important to us. I’ve put together 5 tips and tricks that we use to save time and money.

5 Money and Time Saving Tips for Moms On-The-Go

1. Save on Fuel

Driving the kids around to various activities can be quite the strain on the fuel budget. Use gas price tracking apps such as Gas Buddy or Fuelzee to find the best price on fuel in your area. If you can, carpool with other parents to combine trips whenever possible.

2.Keep Snacks Handy

During baseball season this past spring, I kept my car loaded with a emergency bag of snacks, treats, and drinks for the kids. We often didn’t have time in between school and practices to get home to get a snack. Having those snacks handy keeps us from spending money on fast food or purchasing snacks at the gas station.

3. Freezer Cooking/Bulk Cooking

Grab a friend and spend a day making your family’s favorite meals in bulk and freezing them for later use. If you don’t have time to commit to an entire day of bulk cooking, you can double your recipes each time you are making a favorite meal and eat one and freeze the other. I love cooking ground beef and ground sausage in bulk for easy dinners.

4. Cash Back Credit Card

Use a credit card that offers cash back on purchases you are already making.

5. Maximize Time During Kids Activities

We live in a rural area so it often doesn’t make sense time wise or fuel wise for me to drive home after dropping the kids off at their activities. I try to maximize my time wisely but using that 1-2 hours for exercising, working on blog posts, or doing light grocery shopping.

When it comes to getting your kids from one place to another, how do you save time and money?
