We try to organize by the location in the store. We keep a list on the kitchen counter as items run out and then re write them in the order they are placed in the store. Thanks for having the wonderful giveaway.

My way of organizing is just to write things down before I shop, having something that would make it convenient to add things as I run out would rock!

I have a little black zippered notebook type day planner it just has a tablet on one side and the other side can hold my cards (debit, id’s, etc…) I keep it by my side and when I am cooking or meal planning I will write down what I need on the tablet and then it is all right there when I go to the store. It works really well for me.

My wife organizes the grocery list for me.
Moreover, just as I am going to hand my card to the shopkeeper, I always get a call from her with a request for something she had forgotten.
I politely ask people standing behind me in the queue to wait just one more minute, and I sprint through the whole store just to grab something that’s by the nature of this universe ALWAYS lies at the furthest corner.

I currently organize my grocery list “on paper.” I make a list of recipes for 3-5 days, handwrite my list, and bring it along with me to the grocery store. It’s not the best process, but it’s better than shopping without a list!

I love that the SmartShopper “categorizes” your items. That would really make my grocery shopping experience more pleasant. I hate it when I get through the whole store only to realize I forgot the [fill-in-the-blank].

Oh, did I mention I hate grocery shopping? When I’m rich and famous, I’m going to have my groceries delivered to my door. But until then…I think the Smart Shopper would make that chore less “painful.”

Thanks for hosting the giveaway! :)

  54. Rhonda Martin says

    January 13, 2009 at 10:08 pm

Well I relied a lot on family and friends for the past 10 months to remind me of things that I needed done. I fell last March and bounced my head off the thick Ice in my drive way I landed completely on my head and couldn’t hear for about an hour or so and didn’t walk right for a few days do to a concussion and since then I have had trouble remembering things. My co-worker and good friend would call me to remind me of schedules and such to keep me on track and my family would call me on my cell to remind me what to pick up and a few other close friends called me all the time to remind me to do this or that. They all knew I couldn’t remember stuff at all so they did their best to keep me straight.I’m much better but still very forgetful so I stick a sticky to my visor in my car and every time I run out of something that I need to pick up I add it to the sticky note. Then in the next day or so I pull the sticky off run into the store and pick up what’s on the list. Of course if I’m in the house when I think of something we need and don’t run out to my car to write it down I end up forgetting to put it on the list. Then I end up making a special trip to the store. Today it was for Cat Food. I guess my method isn’t full proof yet lol , It’s better since I used to have to run to the store 2 or 3 more times for forgetting items now it’s only about once a week. This would be wonderful because I could keep it on me at all times and use it for remembering everything not just my grocery list. Thanks for Sharing~

My husband actually does th grocery shopping and we keep a small pad of paper on the kitchen table and when I think of something we need, I write it on the list. The problem is that he likes a different list for each store and sometimes what I write doesn’t get put on the right list. This is an ongoing problem for us so the Smart Shopper could really make our lives easier! Thank you for the chance to win!

My shopping is spread out throughout the week. It helps me to get out of the house everyday so I don’t get in that “stay in my nightgown all day and don’t shower” stage. So on Sunday, I go out and buy my newspapers and come home and clip coupons. Monday is Meijer day. I print off what I need from Grocery Game, match up my coupons, then head out. Tuesday is my Kroger day. Same thing, Grocery Game, match coupons, head out. Wednesday I usually run to Walgreens just for the fun of it. I check out their discount section. On Friday if there’s a special $5 off $20 coupon or something from Walgreens, I’ll head back there.

I currently organize my grocery list? Because nobody told me! Sometimes I look at the ad online and get a tiny index card and write a few things down. Then I leave the index card by my computer until I finally throw it away. Sometimes when I’m in the kitchen I say to myself over and over “Garlic salt, garlic salt, garlic salt” like I’m calling Beetlejuice or something. I often hope this will help me remember it when I’m at the store.

Usually, I pretty much walk around the store picking up what I want and stocking up on things on a great sale. I don’t plan meals, can you tell?

Organize my grocery list? Whatever does THAT mean? Right now I sometimes keep a list on a dirty piece of napkin that floats around the kitchen and office until lost and I have to remember what was on it. Then I loose THAT, and have to re-remember again. Sometimes I loose that piece of paper TOO, and have to re-re-remember what was on my list. Every once in awhile, I print about 25 pages of supposed “great deals” off the internet for Safeway and Walmart and sit for about three hours with my coupons to see if I have what it takes to participate, while making a list. I’ll throw in a 5 minute meal list for the next week and whatever my husband has been shouting that we need (ugh, interupting my private coupon time again…dear grrrowl) and take that sucker to the store.

No one, I mean NO ONE can interpret my grocery list but me! muhahahaaaaaw

that is…if I can find it!

I use what ever scrap of paper is on my desk that is large enough after correcting the kids school for the day. Sometimes this is just the left over paper from when I print online coupons. Otherwise I cut out adds and then just put them in a envelope to remind me of what is on sale and the price. If I have a coupon, I staple it to the add. Works good till I drop the stack on the floor and the kids and I have to pick them all up and try to organize them again as to store layout. This would work great for a person like me:)

I just write everything I’m going to buy from all three stores I shop at on one piece of paper using separate columns. I make sure I star items I have a coupon for and write the amount to the side. I usually try to guesstimate how much I’ll be spending so I can keep it close to my budget as possible. Plus if I see something at a great price, I can snatch it up if I have room in my budget.

This is kinda funny: I write our list on a notepad on the fridge and then I always leave it at home and go by memory at the store. Sometimes when I don’t forget to bring it-it ends up in my pocket until we are checking out! Thanks for the opportunity!

I typically either try to keep my grocery list in my head (which rarely works) or I write the items on a scratch paper. The latter method usually doesn’t help me either because I either can’t read my own writing or I loose the list. I could definately use this Smart Shopper to help me out!

  324. Linda B says

    January 7, 2009 at 12:14 pm

I write my grocery store list in a 3×5 memo book. I attach coupons for that store to a 3×3 piece of paper and put in an envelope. My drug store list are on a 3×3 piece of paper with coupons in another envelope. Other coupons are in envelopes by catagory. It kind of works for me except I must look at all the envelopes in all the stores so I don’t miss a sale or coupon. The SmartShopper would save me a lot of time making my list and shopping. Thanks!

Right now, my kindergardner makes out the list. He uses phonics to make the list and whatever he has that’s handy to write with. I try and do the shopping because DH thinks everything has to be spelled correctly and he freakes if he can’t figure something out. I just skip it if neither son can figure out what it was. Oh, if we win we’ll still be able to use the groceries for practice. We have to do exercises to strenghten the hands!

    Happy New Year!

I used to write down lists and lose them everywhere, but I recently got a magnetic wipe board (for free!) and stuck it to the fridge. As I run out of things, or someone in the house mentions something that they’re craving, I write down the name on the board. This also lets me erase what I bought if I just make small trips to the local CVS.

I am a list person! I MUST write everything down to remember it. I currently jot down a list on any piece of paper I can find! I usually organize it by sectionof the store- and if I’m heading out with coupons (which these days I am!) I put a star next to the item- so that I can refer to the coupon (and not forget to use it!). Would love to win this!! thanks!

I organize my grocery list according to the aisles in the store. I only have 2 stores to pick from so I use both sides of a piece of paper for each store and then list items as I would find them in the store. The only glitch is when the store decides to rearrange the aisles…then it is challenging especially when you put the coupons in order by aisles also!!!

Now that I started couponing I really just look for the freebies and if I read about a really good deal on a blog I just pull the coupon and put it in my zipper pocket of “smart coupons”. That’s about it for my grocery list.
