How do you like your ice cream? For me, the more additions the better. Vanilla ice cream is good, but add candy in it and peanut butter sauce for ice cream on top of it and now we’re talking! I love trying out all sorts of interesting flavor combinations, and the ice cream with peanut butter recipes are often some of my favorites.
That’s why I was so excited to find this new recipe for Homemade Peanut Butter Topping. With this recipe, I never have to worry about running out of my favorite toppings and having to eat plain ice cream. (Not that that would be horrible, but still, I like ice cream with lots of flavor!) Instead, I can quickly and easily make my own peanut butter sauce for ice cream at home.
With just five ingredients–brown sugar, corn syrup, butter, peanut butter and evaporated milk–this Homemade Peanut Butter Topping could not be easier to make. Simply heat and stir the ingredients, and then pour over your favorite ice cream while still warm. The texture is similar to hot fudge, but a little thicker.
Whether you add this Homemade Peanut Butter Topping to plain vanilla ice cream or to one of your favorite flavors like Cookie Dough, Reese’s or Fudge Tracks, this is one yummy summertime treat you won’t be able to get enough of.
