Surely your children have been caught up in the Minion craze with the rest of the world, right? I know mine have! Make this Minion school supply holder and your kids will be rushing to do their homework after school-okay maybe not rushing but it will definitely make homework time more fun. All it takes is just $3 worth of Dollar Tree supplies, a few common household items, and about 15 minutes will produce this adorable Minion craft that the kids will love! Make it with your child and create some memories or surprise them with one full of back to school supplies for a special treat.
Dollar Tree Supplies Needed:
- Yellow Planter
- Black electrical tape
- Silver duct tape
If you cannot locate a yellow planter at your local Dollar Tree a $.97 can of yellow spray paint can transform a terra cotta or other inexpensive pot.
Other Items:
- white cardstock
- black marker
- hot glue
- empty toilet paper roll
Directions:
Wrap black electrical tape around planter about ⅓ of the way down so that it almost meets-about 1” apart.
Cut a ring off a toilet paper roll about ½” wide. Wrap duct tape so that half covers the inside and the other half covers the outside. Trim excess tape off toilet paper ring.
Cut a 2” diameter circle from white cardstock, draw a black pupil in the center to create an eye.
Glue eye on planter over the gap from the black tape.
Apply hot glue to the rough side of taped toilet paper tube ring and press over top of eye.
Done, isn’t he adorable?
An cute minion decoration for just a few dollars- you could also use it in the bathroom for toothbrushes, hair bows, or in the kitchen for small individually wrapped snacks.
