Over the Moon Milk

January 26, 2009 by Briana Carter

overthemoonmilkOver the Moon Milk is a new milk line from Deans. It is fat free milk that tastes like real milk. It even comes in chocolate. Best of all, there is a $1/1 coupon printable here. Coupon is in PDF format and doesn’t expire until 12/31/2009. (Personally, I wish companies wouldn’t do PDF coupons – it just leaves so much room for fraud!) Hopefully, I will be able to find this in my area because my family goes through milk like it is on blue light special!

(Thanks Mommy’s Wish List!)

Sadly, I learned recently from the dairy manager at the store where I shop that OTM milk has been discontinued by Deans. I have tried a competitor’s product, but all of the varieties available have vitamin additives which, in my opinion, affect the flavor. The Deans product is the best and makes it pleasant to get in my milk servings daily with the flavor of 2% or whole milk but without the caloric density. I truly hope you will forward this to your marketing department. I am respectfully asking, all right begging, that you consider bringing this product back. I just can’t go back to regular fat free milk again. Please!

I got the same response you did, they didn’t think it did well. But the two major chains here, Cub and Rainbow, couldn’t keep it in stock even though it was higher-priced – I thought the incredible shelf life offset that just fine. I hope they are listening to their consumers because I, too, can’t go back to “regular” fat free milk and won’t even consider “soy”, ewww.

Thank you for your recent e-mail to Over The Moon®. We appreciate your interest in our products.

After careful consideration, the decision was made to discontinue the production of Over The Moon® Milk. While this product did well in select markets, it did not meet the overall sales expectations for the company. We will forward your comments to our Marketing Department.

Thanks again for contacting the Consumer Affairs Department.

I, too, have discovered that WalMart has been unable to get any of the OTM chocolate milk, and they were the only one’s in my area (central) Ohio that carried it! Now I know why; I cannot believe that sales “were not there” in “some” markets. At the two Walmarts I frequent, it was generally a race to see who could get to the milk isle first to load…..it was a “hot item” for sure. I am ready to give up drinking milk. Period. All of the soy crap on the market tastes terrible, and I am not a big white milk drinker. I think your marketing people need to “revisit” this issue…or maybe you should get NEW marketing people!

I have looked all over for this. Cub and Rainbow no longer carry it. It is the best fat free milk I’ve ever had with an incredible shelf life. Where can I find it in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area?

Update: I have now checked with Harris-Teeter, Food Lion, Aldi, Lowes foods, Bi-Lo, Wal-Mart, NO one is carring OTM fat free chocolate milk or any OTM products. WHAT’S UP WITH THAT? You can’t sell product and make money if you don’t put the product in the stores. Give us Over The Moon fat free choclolate milk Please!

I have been buying OTM fat free chocolate milk at Wal-Mart and Food Lion stores. We use about one and a half gallons a week. PROBLEM-wal-mart and food lion have both quit carrying your product. I really need to know where I can buy OTM products. I am in western NC, zip code 28613 or 28601
All other chocolate milks fall way short compared to your chocolate milk, please help me find a store in my area.

Certain states have specific laws on the price of milk/dairy. I live in a border town and in ND you cannot use coupons or have sales on dairy. It’s a good think I live in MN and always buy my milk there (much cheaper). I picked up one of these coupons from a tearpad at Walmart (where this milk was $2.99 a half gallon!) and on the coupon it says “Void in the following states: CO, MO, ND, TN and LA” So if you don’t live in one of those states, you should be able to use it.

I’m in Indiana and when I put in my zipcode it came up fine. Maybe try entering a different zipcode in your state?

tried to download the coupon but it says that
“State Regulations prohibit us from running this coupon in your state. We apologize for the inconvenience.” I am in Indiana – anyone else have this problem?

I’m wondering if it will ever go on sale? maybe to $1.99/half a gallon…That is what I’m hoping anyway!!!

I saw this coupon too. It looked good…as my kids go through so much milk! But, it’s $2.97 for a 1/2 gallon near me…so, $1.97 AC. The Walmart brand 1/2 gallon is cheaper then that! But, i’d like to give the chocolate milk a go!
