There is a website that will pick out clothes for you, let you try them on at home, and you don’t pay until you decide whether or not to keep the clothing. Yes, this is true ladies! For those of us that HATE to shop or just don’t have time to shop, Stitch Fix is going to be a wonderful solution for you. Though, it could possibly get some of us in trouble! ;)
I’m in the category that I hate to shop. Ask my family. I’m good to shop for about an hour and then I get a shopping headache. Part of the issue is everything is just too overwhelming and too many decisions and choices to make. Another issue is finding things that fit me right and are stylish.
I first read about Stitch Fix from a friend on Facebook. I decided to check it out for myself. I was a little skeptical that anyone would be able to find things that would actually fit me and that I would actually like without even really knowing me. When you sign up, you are asked to fill out a style profile. This style profile includes your sizes, how you like clothing to fit, what clothing or accessories should not be included in your fix, and other questions that allow your stylist to get a sense of what you like! You can also link to your Pinterest Styleboard, Linked In, or Twitter accounts so that your stylist can get more a sense on what you like. This is also where you tell them what kind of prices you are interested in so you won’t get sticker shock when you receive your fix.
You will pay a $20 styling fee when your stylist selects the items in your Stitch Fix. The $20 fee will be applied as a credit towards anything you keep in your shipment. If you keep everything in your shipment, you will receive a 25% discount on your entire order. I placed my first Stitch Fix order and waited patiently for my order! They will allow you to schedule when you want the item but note there is a few week lag because it does take some time for them to come up with the items for you.
I received my package this week and I was pleased. I was sent 5 items and I’m keeping 3 of the items. I’m sending two items back. One was just too small. It was tight in the chest and arms so that one was easy to send back. It was the right style and color for me, though. I’m also sending the jeans back because I don’t wear the skinny style jeans enough to justify the cost. Though, I really wish I was one of those people that could pull off the skinny jean/flats look but my butt and thighs are too big for that to be a flattering look for me. The items that I did keep – I LOVE! It was like the stylist really knew me. Normally, I wouldn’t go for bright colors to wear on top but I love the material and the style of the bright pink (almost BargainBriana.com website bright!) loose top. This will be great for spring. I also LOVE this sweater. It is light weight material and it’s my colors – gray/black. I like the fit and I feel comfortable in it. I’m excited about this sweater. The black cardigan is a staple in my closet. However, all of mine are getting kind of grungy looking so it was nice to have one in this box. Oh and you get a style card for each item you are sent. The style card includes ideas for pairings. This is great for a non-fashionista like me! If there are items you don’t like, you simply return those items in the prepaid package that is sent along with your Fix. You can also leave feedback when you go to the website to checkout on what worked for you and what didn’t and why. Have you tried Stitch Fix? Let me know what you think. **Disclosure: I will receive a shopping credit when you sign up for Stitch Fix from my link and order your first Fix. Otherwise, I’m just sharing my experience of this website.

Oh I love this idea! Due to a bad back and severe neuropothy in my feet, I hate shopping for clothes for myself. Could you please let us know what the costs of the items you are keeping are? I ask this because at 1 store your pretty pink blouse might be $20, where as in another store they may want $140! I’m on a strict budget, so if you can prepare me for the cost of their items, that will help me decide whether or not to purchase from them. (normally I order clothes online, have them shipped to the store, I pick them up, and if they don’t fit, I can return them… sort of like a very short shopping trip) Thanks honey! And thank you again for a great idea! I do so love your newsletters!

The tops they sent me were in the $40 – $50 range. I choose the middle line of budget…there is a lower budget price than what I choose so the tops could be even less, I guess. Basically you will be out the $20 if you choose not to purchase anything so if you are on a really tight budget, it may not be for you.

I received the same exact pink shirt and grey and black shirt. I also was sent the other shirt you kept but it is a rust and navy pattern… Lol… I didn’t realize they mass mailed these… I still love the products because I live in a remote part of Alaska and this is a great idea
