Tips for Organizing Your Black Friday Purchases

You just had a great time shopping on Black Friday, so now what? Chances are you have a whole trunk full of treasures that need to be organized. So, take a look below at 5 tips for organizing your Black Friday purchases. When you organize your purchases, you can more effectively check off your shopping list and not over buy. Take a look at how to get started!

1. File your receipts.
Begin by filing your receipts into a file folder. On each receipt, write the name of the person you purchased the item for. File them by date or store so they can be easily accessed. Keep your receipts for a few months after the holidays (3 months is ideal) in case of any issues.

2. Attach your gift receipts.
Next, attach your gift receipts to the items. You can do this with basic tape. Simply tape the gift receipt to the item so it stays secure. This way when you go to wrap it, the receipt is attached. Be sure you write the recipient’s name on the receipt as well in case it comes loose.

3. To hide, or not to hide?
Some gifts will need to be hidden while others can stay out in the open. Now is the time to tuck those must hide gifts away. For those that can remain out in sight, find a card table that can be used as a gift organizing/wrapping station.

4. Start sorting.
Start sorting out the gifts of your various recipients. This will give you an idea of who you have purchased for and who else you need to buy for. You can even create an index card for each pile if you wish. Keep a checklist near the pile so you can easily check off recipients as you add to it.

5. Wrap them up!
Spend a few minutes each night wrapping a gift or two. This way, you are not overwhelmed trying to do it all at once. As you wrap, add a gift tag securely so each gift can be easily identified. Your gift table is perfect for this task, and the wrapped gifts can go right back on it when done.

Holiday shopping can quickly become overwhelming. Instead, give these five simple steps a try when bringing home your holiday gifts. They are perfect for keeping organized and preventing over buying!
