Homemade Baby Wipes

Homemade Baby Wipes

Baby wipes seem to be a fairly inexpensive item in the realm of baby care. If you pick some up on sale you can pay right around $0.02 per wipe which seems pretty good.

But what if you could pay less than that? Would you do it? Of course! Today we will show you how to make your own homemade baby wipes. It’s so simple, takes very few ingredients and are more cost effective than the wipes you buy at the store. Here’s what you need:

Homemade Baby Wipes

Ingredients:

  • ½ teaspoon baby shampoo
  • 1 teaspoon baby oil
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • Paper towels

Place the shampoo, baby oil, and water in a sealable container (that will fit half a roll of paper towel) and swish around. You don’t need to shake it, a simple swirling will combine the ingredients well enough. Then get out a bread knife and cut the roll of paper towels in half, right across the center. Place one half of the paper towel roll inside the container in the solution and close the lid. Give it about 10 minutes to soak up the liquid, then pull out the middle (cardboard) from the paper towel and pull future wipes right up from the middle of the roll.

With this recipe you want to make sure that you use a decent roll of paper towels, not the cheapest you can find or they will just shred. Bounty is a good brand to use for these homemade baby wipes.

One container of these wipes costs roughly $0.60 or less to make, depending on how much you pay for your paper towels. The oil in these towels will leave baby’s skin feeling soft and smooth and free from rash. Plus you know exactly what is going in to your wipes.
