Have a Special Dinner at Home

Plan a Dessert Date for the Whole Family
Round everybody up for an ice cream or a dessert date. Pick out a favorite spot to treat the whole family to ice cream, milkshakes, cupcakes, or some other delicious dessert for Valentine’s Day.
Plan a Movie Night
Pick out a movie or two and plan a Valentine’s Day movie night for the whole family. Pop some popcorn, shares some soft drinks, then snuggle up together as a family to watch a favorite flick.
Make Some Goodies Together
Whether you stay in or go out, get the whole family involved in making some Valentine’s Day goodies together. You can buy some ready-to-bake Valentine’s Day cookies for a fun baking project or gather up some ingredients to make your favorite treat together. Be sure to let the kids take part in the whole process from start to finish. After all the goodies are made, have a family tasting night.
Take the Kids on a Date
Plan in advance and get reservations on Valentine’s Day at a nice restaurant that is family friendly. Take the kids out for a Valentine’s Day date. Dress up in some of your finest date clothing and be sure to instruct everyone else in the family to do the same then go enjoy a family date night.
Plan a Craft Day
If you and your kiddos love to craft and make things, plan a craft day for your Valentine’s celebration. Do some online searching to find instructions for some simple Valentine’s Day crafts that everyone can enjoy making. You can also check at your favorite local craft store for ready-to-make craft kits.
Visit Elderly Loved Ones or a Nursing Home
What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than by spreading a little love? Plan for the whole family to visit with some elderly loved ones who are not able to get out and about much. Take a goodie basket of treats and a homemade decoration as a gift.
If you don’t have elderly family members who live nearby, check with a local nursing home or retirement home about visiting with someone who doesn’t have family nearby.
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be just for couples. Get the whole family involved and turn this day of love into a day of love AND fun for the whole family.
