Cupid Connections – Finding a Date for Valentine’s Day

Finding a Date for Valentines Day

Are you looking for a date for Valentine’s Day? If you don’t already have a sweetheart or significant other, but want to spend the evening with someone, there are a few options for finding a special date for the night. Check out these ideas.

Cupid Connections – Finding a Date for Valentine’s Day

Social Media

Make use of social media and your online community in order to find a date for Valentine’s Day. Keep in mind that you’re not trying to find a spouse or a long-term relationship, but simply someone to spend Valentine’s Day with.

Ask around on Facebook to see who among your friends might be available on Valentine’s Day and might be interested in getting together for the evening. Use Twitter or Instragram to ask friends for help in finding a date for the evening.

Forget Romance

Don’t get hung up on the idea that your Valentine’s Day date has to be romantic. A platonic date can be more fun and memorable without the pressure of trying to create chemistry. Look for someone fun and interesting to spend Valentine’s Day with. Look for someone who can participate in enjoyable conversation and will help make the evening worthwhile for both of you.

Enlist Family and Friends

Enlist your family members and friends to help you find a date for the holiday. Emphasize to your helpers that you aren’t trying to find a long-term relationship, just a new friend to spend Valentine’s Day with. Be open to the possibilities they present to you as your loved ones may know someone you may not have considered who would be great fun.

Enlist Coworkers

Ask coworkers you trust to help you find a date for Valentine’s Day. There may be a coworker that you could spend the evening with who is also looking for a date for the evening. Just because you go on a Valentine’s Day date doesn’t mean you are committing to a relationship.

Dating Sites

Do some research into online dating sites. While some are geared toward helping singles find long-term relationships, some specialize in helping singles find one-time dates. Do your homework, though, and investigate each site thoroughly before you sign up. If you choose to set up a date with someone from a dating site, use every safety precaution possible. Give family and friends details about the person and the location of the date. Check in frequently with a loved one and meet your date in a public location. Don’t tell your date where you live and don’t go back to their home with them.

If you don’t want to spend Valentine’s Day alone, be open to finding a date through unconventional means. Whether it’s a blind date set up by someone else or a date with someone you are acquainted with, a Valentine’s Day date can be fun without leading to romance or a relationship.
