Enjoying your food have to bust your budget and break the bank. Check out these frugal tips for foodies and save a few bucks while your savor your food.

Visit Favorite Restaurants During Lunch Time

A meal at a favorite restaurant can be expensive at dinner time. If you’re hoping to save some money, visit during lunch time. The menu is usually the same, but the cost is less. This is a great way to enjoy your favorite dishes at your favorite dining establishment without overspending.

Take Advantage of “Food Weeks”

In large cities, some restaurants will participate in “food weeks” during which diners can taste their fare at a reduced price. Do some research to find the exact dates for such deals and plan your schedule accordingly.

Visit Restaurants With a Group

Get a group of foodie friends together to visit restaurants you want to try. It isn’t financially feasible for one person to try every dish on the menu, but if everyone orders something different and each member of the group tries a taste then you all get to try out the various things the restaurant has to offer at a cost you can afford.

Shop Discount Stores and Compare Prices

Just because you enjoy eating rich food doesn’t mean you have to spend tons of money on it. Shop at discounts grocery stores like ALDI and Save-a-Lot for quality food and ingredients at a fraction of the cost. Be sure to compare prices between the discount stores and other grocery stores. Most items are cheaper but that’s not always the case. Make sure you know the regular prices for the things you buy so you can tell a great deal when you see one.

Use Coupons Whenever Possible

Stores like ALDI don’t accept coupons, but other grocery stores do. Combine sales with coupons in order to get the best deals on foods and ingredients. Browse weekly grocery store ads to check for sales on items you need then look for a coupon to match with it. Sign up online for coupons from your favorite brands and manufacturers.{Check out all the store deals and coupon matchups here.}

Plan Your Meals and Make Lists

One of the best ways to save money when you buy food is to plan out your meals and make a shopping list from the menus you have chosen. Haphazard grocery shopping actually spends a lot more money than necessary. Always make out a shopping list for your visit to the grocery store and use a meal plan to create the list.

    There are some great tips here, but I have to disagree with the tip about eating out in a group or at least want to add a bit of advice to this tip. Be cautious as to the amount of people in your party and whether or not the restaurant you choose to dine at has a mandatory tip policy. They may add extra fees to your bill that you may not be aware of just because you dined in a group. It could cost you more if you forget and tip twice unknowingly or have the higher tip taken out than you had intended to give just because your party was over a certain size. Just my two cents… Have a good day!
